Some people must really have weak immune systems around here.

I've been here over 17 years. I've gone three years without calling in sick (twice.) I've averaged 30 hrs/yr.

Frequent hand-washing germaphobe may have something to do with it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Do you commute? I’m pretty sure half the times I get sick is from customers during commute.

Good point. It's a petri dish back there.

Two possible reasons that you are currently not medically qualified (read: sick) to fly due to a sick child.
So when you get a call for a GFB, you are going to tell the CPO “my son has a common cold and I’m too stressed to come to work.” Or if you have a verification status you will get a note that states the general nature of the illness as “mental stress” or “emotion?” Again, you are the certificate holder and it’s your call, but if that stresses you out that much you probably have other issues.

You got lucky. “Patient was sick” is not a description of the general nature of the illness and is usually rejected.

Pretty sure it was a warning for anyone trying to say they use it as schedule management, for a sick kid (debatable legality in some places without even going into the state sick legal battles), etc. There are people on this message board that have been called in to the CPO WRT posts here.

I understand what the PWA says in the black and white. I understand there may have even been an intent to superceed IMSAFE. But without the FAA chiming in directly im not buying the company's crap.

Did alpa intend for us to ignore IMSAFE. If so, then i as a member would direct the union to formally grieve any harm done to a pilot by the company, and make the faa give us a letter of intent. The company was wrong about "highspeeds" and rest rules, and they are wrong about this. Play their stupid game to its conclusion.

And maybe im wrong, maybe the faa doesnt care about imsafe and will allow contract language to superceed their recommendation. Unthinkable but possible. But i wanna see it in writing from the faa
