I have not seen the polling. I know however from past contracts the polling gets massaged in both directions. It’s up to the MEC to apply adult leadership to produce the highest possible gain for the pilot group. I do however doubt most pilots polled thought doubling vacation and a 25% DC was going to fly or even be reasonable.

Is that our ask? If so, how do YOU know?

Its been published by the MEC. You know, all those emails and bulletins they publish that apparently no one reads.

Found it. Thanks for the point out. Don’t know if you saw this part:
Actuarial modeling has demonstrated that a 25% DC contribution will allow a pilot to achieve the level of savings (over a 30-year career with average returns) required to provide income in retirement similar to that of the former Delta pension.

I fear the delusional wish lists & demands will get us parked and the soonest we see a contract will be 2025 or 26…,after a few more 1000 retire. By that time retro is history and we’ll get a signing bonus which cuts out the retirees altogether.

Its interesting that years ago when we were at 9% they said we needed 16%. The DC type plan also remains in your estate vice going away at your death.
The 25% combined with the pay increases I saw doubled the yearly DC contribution. We also had additional asks with the plus up or whatever we called it.

Adult as opposed to what? Applied to what? Do you find yourself sharing the cockpit with children? I can’t remember the last time I flew with someone whose opinion I couldn’t at least respect. Might be time to put the keyboard down and go get a fresh breeze in your spinnaker.

What is the other option? Doing what United did and settling for a new suit case? How is that working for them? I'd rather be where we are than where they are.
