Proposed Policy Manual Change – Retro Pay
1 WHEREAS the DALMEC currently has no standing policy regarding retro pay, and 2
3 WHEREAS current Section 6 negotiations have extended multiple years beyond the
4 amendable date of our current contract, and
5
6 WHEREAS current economic impacts have resulted in the significant devaluation of pilot
7 wages since the amendable date.

9 THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED the DALMEC amends the Policy Manual to establish a
10 commitment to the DALMEC achieving retroactive pay for any Section 6 contract
11 negotiation back to the amendable date.

13 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED the DALMEC amends the Policy Manual to include the
14 following language:

16 “All PWA amendments achieved during Section 6 negotiations will include retroactive
17 pay going back to the amendable date in the event an agreement is delayed beyond that
18 date.”

No rewards for sending inexperienced negotiators lacking job knowledge. No rewards for dragging their feet. No rewards for public negotiations and attempting to pit other employee groups against us. Retro is a must as a deterrent to this same BS next negotiation.

The RLA favors management in dragging out negotiations. An IRONCLAD retro policy is the only possible way to offset that. And it needs to be implemented ALPA-wide, profession wide if possible.
