We’ll see what regionals are left, and what mainlines look like sometime mid summer. Until then, I hope everyone is stashing their cash

being that many that choose to stay at a regional dont look past the end of their nose in regards to their careers. I'd assume anyone staying now simply is ignoring that mainline is throwing money at the regionals to float them long enough to resolve the issue. Its in no way a long term plan to pay these rates at the regionals long term . They'll get paid now but lose out on the seniority, eventual qol and career money that comes with moving up. No way I'd stay at a regional knowing how this industry works....

Yea, I definitely agree that in the long run it’s definitely much better to make it to a Major or Trunk carrier . There is much more money to be made and more options of aircraft to fly with nicer destinations and layovers . However as far as regionals go I don’t think there is any going back at this point . If they ever try to lower the pay back to what it was they will just run into the same problems with mass exodus. These higher pay rates at the regionals are exposing the lies of the past 20 to 30 years that they couldn’t afford to pay higher rates at the regional level . It was always a shell game when they used regionals for peasant labor . They can and will make billions in profits still while paying these higher rates . No one is going to fall for the old gag of going backwards to old regional pay . Like My good buddy Roger Daltrey sang , “we won’t get fooled again”.

Not pushing any narrative. I thought two quarters was a recession. I also thought it took sometime to say the trough happened. I’m social sciences guy so I’m not well versed. But thanks for being snarky as usual instead of explaining, like I already admitted to being ignorant to.
