You should be able to have the OPTION to do that, but you can't force everyone else to do it too.
Explain the 5 years. Why 5? If you make $330K or less it's a moo point. What portion of the group will make more than that in 2023? When you get to those numbers you are going to taper for risk. Who this really affects is those making over the earnings limit. Those are precisely the people who will be shifting into income generation and capital preservation. $400K earners would have $11,200 worth of spill. Do you think that's a significant portion of their portfolios annually? I bet it's 15% of their allocation and that's probably low for income generating assets for the demographic. Remeber none of the limits are stagnant so the will gradually increase keeping the 15% consistent as they age.

Those are your assumptions. Other people feel differently. You are the only one who wants to dictate to others. Also, there’s nothing guaranteed about it.

I can't argue with the sentiment. I can argue about the PWA and it's retirement section being intended for tax sheltered growth until you retire. Go mine bitcoin or whatever just not with the negotiated retirement funds.

I am the only one willing to post as a contrarian on this website. Do some looking at other high earner plans and vehicles. There's no guarantees in life, right? There are however proven instruments that will consistently protect principle while "guaranteeing" returns. Why were people on here advocating for annuities or insurance products? Because they are dependable and low/no risk. Would I like to have the option of putting all my money in Ethereum? Sure, but would it be better to put a small amount money in a tax shelter generating income (if the return was 5%) so I could put most of it in Ethereum rather than gift it to the government? Yes it would.

Your obsession with a vehicle to tax defer 5% returns is bewildering.

no, it would just lock existing low return portions of my portfolio into products I don’t want or need.

I’ll take it one step further, if the goal of this job is to maximize pay for time worked, do what ever it takes to just barely hang on to the job in order to maximize vacation and sick leave. 19+ years is roughly 400 hours. Drop everything else, stay out of the chief pilot’s office, do something else with your time. This is how you squeeze every drop out of the turnip. If you are worried about excess cash (415c) you’re spending too much of your time working for someone else and not maximizing your worth. Seriously, 400 hours of pay without turning a wheel is the goal.
that’s a great outlook for you. It’s not for everyone.

Low ceilings today so no VFR fun. I'm saying what is true regarding the MBCBP. You seem to want everyone to trust the force and buy China tech. Talk about obsessions.
