Again, I am not negotiating Jack Squat, I am exercising my rights of free speech guaranteed under the Constitution. If the union wants to squash my opinions in public I have a foolproof way of doing it.... GET US A ****ING CONTRACT. Until then, they can **** and mind their own business.

But you knew that.

I know my minimum was 20 percent higher than current rates at beginning of 2022. Give that inflation in 9 percent, I now have a minimum of 30 percent higher than current rates in 2023. I feel these are on the low side. Anything less and I’m automatic no vote. I am willing to strike.

No one outside of the negotiations actually knows the specific ask, you’re aware of that. There have been other posters who said the request was too high and blamed that for not signing something January 2020.

As far as I can tell, their opener was in fact just a list of priorities developed from the input of the membership. Regular polling has continually updated the NC through the MEC of our evolving priorities. That’s in strong contrast to the UAL MEC, who didn’t poll, agreed to a TA that met almost no one’s needs, and had it rejected by 94% of voters.

Maybe think about this a little harder to understand how your view of what is “realistic” may be hindering our efforts at the negotiating table. If you really do believe your opinion of what is attainable at the table is accurate and is well below your co workers’ estimations, maybe just keep it to yourself on social platforms. Who knows, maybe the realist or even the optimist projection will prevail, win for all.
