Don’t we already have a railroad/my party’s better than your party thread?

If congress votes to force the PEB contract on the rail workers then they get all concessions back since the PEB was offered (if any were made) and they also will get 7 days paid guaranteed leave for medical appointments. So in essence, the rail workers benefit from it all. Read the news hombre.

Congress voted to impose the PEB TA. The additional seven days sick leave was a separate bill that got shot down in the senate.

FFS the party you support is the reason “the all powerful government “ didn’t give them paid sick leave. BTW- my pops & my brother are both railroad engineers. They get zero paid sick leave, but on top of that the freight rails threaten termination for “taking advantage” of unpaid sick. That is to say- if you use it at all. Not to mention being a line holder equivalent at a freight rail “holding a turn” still means you literally have zero guaranteed off days to plan around. 12 hours after you block in, they can call & you have to answer and you have to go.

The truth is in the feet. Where are they going? To work? To home? To another job?

The power we have is our choices. Those are being eroded slowly over time to a point we don’t have any but to slave away.

not trying to be a downer but if you simply look at this like a monopoly game you may find it more simplistic. Unless you own all the properties, you’re doomed..save the drama.

but what happens is Dem/Rep doesn’t matter. Squeeze the good will or ability to pay to a razor thin margin and the game continues forever for the people that own it all. Actually at times you may have to pay the people a little more to accomplish a never ending game, but it’s probably not a huge raise, just enough so next time they pull onto boardwalk they feel good paying the rent because they have just enough to get that pass GO paycheck. Maybe they get to cross right through with some uncle sugar chance cards (pay 10% tuition owed). Then they roll through again hoping in the meantime someone pays them off for a utility or railroad ride…but it’s not enough.

the ones with the money control the outcome. It’s an awful game to play with fam/friends for a reason.

but if people walk away from the game it’s over. Ha. Best part, but also the only way a middle-ground wage worker wins.

This imposition on the rail workers is merely the govt grabbing the bull by the horns tactics to keep middle America from running amok and ending the game before they can make well….just more$$$$$$$$$$$$

it’s actually a problem. Similar to DALPA forcing up gauging ahead of everyone else 10 years ago, the RR that fixes its contract now will have an edge in the next decade.
