If you are required to go through regular screening, you have to comply with regular screening protocols. That's not new. It may be new at that station. I agree about the latter.

I've been randomed out of uniform and I've never had to remove shoes/etc... and I've certainly never had them make me stand there and do paperwork for the stuff the confiscated. That does appear to be new, at least at one station.

I'm not saying I haven't received special treatment out of uniform. I'm saying they are not SUPPOSED to give to special treatment. In fact, out of uniform, you're supposed to go the end of the line with the rest of the general public.

This is funny. TSA doesn’t even read their own rules. Any government issued ID is acceptable according to TSA rules but they decide on a case by case basis what they will accept. They seem to never allow a government issued concealed carry ID even though you have to pass a background check to get one. They sometimes allow VA issued ID (and sometimes not). They sometimes insist on seeing your pilots license as a second ID etc. etc. So yeah it does seem a little random and confusing.

Again, I'm not defending those things. I'm just saying that what is being complained about is TECHNICALLY the policy.

Also, this:

OK. The policy regarding shoes off has not been followed for many years so my point stands that it seems/is random and confusing. The TSA requirement for ID for travel seems to be separate from the KCM policy as the KCM policy simply says government issued ID as your second form of ID from your airline issued ID. KCM policy does not refer to “valid” form of ID or other differentiator other than government issued ID.

Each station is its own little fiefdom with its own made up rules. I remember there was one station in Texas where they made the agents physically touch the ID badge as if they’re masters in different kinds of plastic.

2 FAs had their badges in clear plastic holders and the agent would loudly say “Take it out I have to touch it!” Got a little side eye for saying “Phrasing!”

I mean are we not doing phrasing anymore?

I find it fairly absurd you think that you think because it doesn't say "valid" it can be any ID.. I don't know why you think the ID requirements would be waived at KCM.

*Not that I think we should have to have 3 IDs to go through KCM.

I can’t imagine trying to flex my CCW at KCM

In the law words matter. Regardless of your definition of absurd. It says government issued ID. Maybe you should look it up as you are so fond of telling others to do. There are plenty of absurdities in TSA land. A concealed carry permit that has a photo, requires a background check and fingerprinting cannot be used but a VA issued ID that I can upload a picture of my cat for is acceptable. And I am absurd. Pshaw.
