I use the composite one from Mission. Also fits on Henson belts.

BTV was notorious for ID inspection. I refused to hand it over to an agent (their policy was you cannot keep it on your possession during inspection) and I got into it pretty good with one of the Smurfs

Why would you refuse?

I don’t like not having my ID in my possession. They can see it with it still attached to the lanyard around my neck

Do you then spend the rest of the flight complaining about TSA because of your irrational fear of not having your precious clipped/hung to you?

I think it’s more a frustration with Leviathan, and I totally get it. It’s one thing to have a clear set of rules that both sides understand. It’s quite another to have the “rules” change in every tiny village we go to: Honestly it’s almost comical:

“Peasant pilot, you have set foot in the kingdom of the (JAX) smurfs and by order of 3 stripe Smurf, thou must show thine badge whilst standing on one foot.”

”But I’ve been to 69 other Smurf kingdoms and none of them do it that way.”

”Silence! Those are the rules. Written down in the sacred texts thou cannot see. Thine badge peasant.”

First world problems I know but it’s annoying, especially when the Hudson News workers have an easier time of it than we do.

Do you think the agent is going to seize your ID or something?

We are so completely aligned on this subject. Thanks for the good laugh.

Two IDs? Watch their heads spin when you give them your ATP, and your CFI. Oh need another one? How about a ground instructor, then a drone license..

That’s me. I hate myself after I argue with a person so far down the pay scale it wasn’t worth the air I expelled. The back of the badge is the dumbest tsa thing ever. Heaven forbid we ever change the back of the ID. I can’t wait for that day.
