Oh it’s bitterness especially when you blame other people for your problems and do nothing to fix it.
Blaming junior pilots for the current administration is ill founded too. Again blaming other people for your inaction. Must be their fault for Moak too? Oh wait, the majority of them weren’t even in the airline industry yet. My predecessors were responsible for the Moak debacle. The "true" deadzoners. Same ones who sold RJ scope. When the bankruptcy rolled around, they'd have sold their own kid to keep that FAE pension intact. They tried to throw all of us under the bus and almost succeeded. Gave back most of the contract. Lost their pensions anyhow. Then that clown got a term at national, just like Jason is now due to strife and infighting and drama at the FLL BOD meeting. Used that as a springboard to undermine the whole industry, leading to his recent Article 8. As for the junior pilots, nothing I said is untrue. We have hired 5000+ pilots in the last 3 years who are just glad to be here. There's no way these guys are going to fight. You see it here on the forums every day. Management isn't suddenly emboldened for no reason. They think they have this pilot group by the balls. They see weakness, just like a school yard bully, and we all know the best way to deal with that problem. |

This is an odd take for me. It’s not like pre-2014 DALPA was known for being particularly militant.

Pretty sure the junior pilots weren't here to vote in C15 or C19. Those two fixed a lot of what the Moakies gave away. I'm worried we are heading back down that giveaway path when the industry crashes next year with this weak regime at the horseshoe. Even BK, a true pilot advocate, has walked away in disgust. Who's left to hole the line. Certainly not C44.
blaming new pilots for ALPA being what it is is just as dumb as blaming them for giving away scope 20 years ago. |

Obviously you weren't here then, and know not of which you speak. Let me educate you.

What is old is new again yet you want to splinter the pilot group and blame new hires for the problems that Management is putting onto the entire pilot group. Somehow this is a new problem because of who new hires have voted into ALPA leadership? Or maybe this has been a problem with ALPA going back decades. Or maybe it’s a problem with the RLA and how the whole thing resolves itself between the PWA and management. Either way, save me “I’ve been here longer so I know better.” You’ve had more opportunities to help fix your issues with ALPA but have done little to fix it. |

weird take blaming new pilots. C15 TA2 was after a very infamous TA1, where plenty of older DL pilots voted yes. lots of “new” pilots were off probation in 2023 to vote on our last TA, which was arguably one of the better contracts we have had in a long time.

The takeaway is that pilots here, junior and senior, young and old, better wake up and say enough is enough, or history is going to repeat itself. The company has us in check again. It's likely that they see advance bookings dropping, and are putting the pieces in play to drop the hammer on us when the "revenge travel" bubble pops next year. Our next move determines the outcome of this game. |

When can we see your name as a candidate? See, I can do that too. Weak debate tactic. Oldest in the book. You don't have the right to complain unless you throw your hat in the ring, right?
As for me? Never. It would be a waste of time as long as the weak weasels have a majority and the 5000+ junior pilots who think this is better than the hellhole regional or ULCC they just left will keep voting them in. In all honesty, I'm not bitter. I quietly did my job, and even did a job the company values highly, beyond line flying. Some would say I was a company man. But I've reached my breaking point with management's abuse and DALPA's weakness. I think many pilots here feel the same way. It's time we stood up and said enough is enough. If you don't agree and just see this as bitterness, then you're probably part of the problem. We - the Delta pilots - should not be against one another. We need to close ranks, shake hands and unite. It really is come down to us against "them". I'm waiting for them to start taking hostages that's in their playbook too. You all be careful out there in what you say, and post, because trust me it's been done before in times like this and they will not hesitate to do it again |

Our next move determines the outcome of this game. If management was seriously laughing all the way to the bank following the meeting in Raleigh, it wouldn't have taken a CEO gaff on TV and they wouldn't be working this hard to claw back this perceived win. If pilots get bent out of shape and lose their cool individually, it's easy for the company to come down hard on us. If we work together we're unstoppable. |
If indeed there’s a number of complacent new pilots on property, then:
1) DALPA should consider an education campaign (write your reps supporting this) 2) It is incumbent on pilots who have been here to mentor the new pilots on these topics |
