Average Monthly Credit Hours

The green slips have dried up in the last few months in my category and seat (even over the Thanksgiving weekend). I guess it might be time to upgrade or commute to widebody.

And it’s awesome.
In general, pilots have been green slip drunk for too long. I’m fairly senior in category and was getting them, but I’d rather have reserve coverage and the ability to easily adjust my schedule, or bid reserve and not get used.
Record green slips month over month was no way to run an airline and it showed in the company’s metrics.
It’s also (in my opinion) part of the reason NBA has gone so junior. FOs with even a sliver of seniority could GS to make up the difference in pay. Those days appear to be over in many categories (at least for the foreseeable future). If it continues through the summer (a big if), NBA will trend more senior.

I think we will continue to see plenty of GSs in the summer, but the days of rolling thunder in February are probably over.
I think this will drive more senior FOs to upgrade

Edit: to answer the OP's question. PAS/schedule shows 95 hours pay, 8.5 days/month putting on a uniform. Fairly senior 717A.
IDK, my cateogry seems to be heading the other way. Our staffing appears to only be heading south, from what I considered "decent," last summer. Most AE's they're not backfilling or simply making the net change zero. Right now our category size is much smaller than what the projection calls for. The only reason there are not as many pilots with high GS counts as there used to be, is becuase there are just a lot more pilots able to play the game. If I wanted, I could regularly get 4-5 GS/month before the new contract, even with decent staffing. Now, the only way I get more than one (maybe 2) is if I leave my phone on at night and answer the call at O'dark:30. I'm not complaining, that's just what we're seeing as more commuters are able to jump into the game.
I prefer a well staffed category, to bid reserve and have scheduling flexibilty. We're not seeing that right now, if you're on reserve, you're getting used quite a bit. The first week (not even the weekend) of December, a buddy was burried 12 deep in the 4 day bucket and was used. I'm hoping to drop a few middle days of a reserve block next month, and even in the top 25% of my seat, I'm not sure it will work because staffing is already tight. This used to be no big deal before. If things keep going the way they're going, I expect the summer to be a GS bloodbath (or SS if those come out).

WB B middle 1/3 seniority over the last 12 mos split between line and reserve
117 hours average over the last 12 months working 7 days/mo
*work days include trips, SC, RCY and CQ. I did not include LC days sitting at home.
**In fairness, add another half day per month for PCS "work" on PB days, GS requests, X day moves, etc..
***zero sick hours (need to get better about using that negotiated benefit)

Bottom 1/3 WB B, live in base (fairly well staffed, 40/60 blue/black RES days on initial publication). Bid mainly for days-off and Sunday night starts. Average schedule is 2 x 6-day trips on months with nothing else going on (CQ, Vacation). On training and vacation months I bid reserve and strategize to not fly through pattern and X-day moves. By choice, not too much schedule manipulation. Average 10-11 days worked (influenced up due to my flying months) and averaging 76-82 hours per month.
I admit that I am one of those 'bid a schedule, fly the schedule' and don't think about work on my off days.

It would be in my category as well if there was reserve coverage to move trips. I'm top 20% and usually only one or two blue days per month and when on reserve I still seem to getting called. I'll try reserve again in Feb to see how it pans out but I long for the day when I used to only work 10 days out of 4 months on reserve.
For the OP, I basically bid to sharp shoot the greenslip trigger and pickup a 2 day GS or bid reserve usually about 75 hour guarantee and try to green slip once per month. I'm probably averaging about 80 to 85 hours credit per month and very occasionally I'll break 100 hours. Used to be easy to sharp shoot what credit I wanted. Now with GS drying up it's more difficult. I'm be happy to sit at home on reserve though.

Remainder was soft pay such as EDP, sit pay, etc.
I had 16 days off in November and had a block of 10 days off in a row after swapping with the pot (think ELITT). I took my family on an international holiday where we got to use the bennies a bit and even got Delta One going out (back of the bus economy coming back), but it was the right price!
This month like last, I have been receiving GS calls, bid on one but did not get it, otherwise being a bit lazy and prefer to be home during the kids vacation. In January I was able to hold weekends off.
As a former SWA pilot myself, I hope you find this helpful.
