Default Average Monthly Credit Hours

Would someone be willing to post your average monthly credit hours and the fleet you are on for comparison purposes? Preferably 737, a320 and 757? Thanks in advance!

Working smarter, not harder, I bid reserve and average mid-high 90's credit per month, working 10-11 days as a 320 Captain in ATL. Summer months, I averaged around 110.

There are (at least) 3 tiers of folks here. Those who do the bare minimum 65-75 hours, those who really hustle and average 120-130 or more, and those who are more like me. FWIW, I'm probably middle of the road for that middle tier. There are definitely those who make more working little, if any, more than I do. I also have an occasional month where I'm at only about 75-80. Seniority definitly helps with some of that.

I'm sure you'll get some folks to add to that. Hope it helps. Good Luck.

Not bad at all. What % do you sit in category. What days a week do you sit reserve..live local? It makes a big difference. I would agree for the most part the broken up trips are better compared to the bid ones.

ER FO.. I averaged about 113 hours a month this year. It slowed down dramatically this fall with greens after being hot and heavy for over 2 years.

Now that we’re decently staffed on a given month living local at 80% NYC ER A, I average about 6-10 days of flying and around 80-85 hours of credit off of 72 reserve guarantee (SCCs, Soft pay for long days, vacation pay etc.)

60's%. Live local, mostly bid weekends off (especially Friday and Saturday starts), but sometimes work them just to make the 'cadence' work since I don't like long stretches...

I have found that the GS pool is MUCH larger on the A side than the B. A lot more empty nesters with nothing tying them down, who also live locally... It makes it a lot harder to get premuim flying as a Capt. and my average is definitly affected down.

Nope, I'd say you are doing it right. I'm looking forward to upgrade here in a few months and plan to maybe bid reserve for the reasons you mentioned although I commute. I'm tired of hustling as an FO, having to fly weekends for GS etc. 80-85 sounds perfect. Ill be sitting in the mid 50s on the A side so hopefully I can hold weekday reserve.

Yeah, I definitly don't mean any of that as a complaint - just a snapshot for expectation management.

72 hours as a NB Capt is equivalent pay as ~106 as an FO, and 80 is more like ~118. You rationale was exactly the same reason I decided to take the upgrade. You'll love it, and never look back. Enjoy it.

It can ping pong one way or the other due to personal preference. The average line value (ALV) is set by the company, and can between 72-84 for the NB fleets, and is the same for each seat/AC comination across all bases (NYC 737 CA is the same as ATL 737 CA, etc). The 12 month trailing average of that number has to be between 73-78. The actual average of all PBS runs for that position have to be within 1.5 hours of the ALV. The line construction window, which is pilot controllable to some extent, is plus or minus 10 hours of the ALV, with a minimum pay for line holders of 65 (even if the awarded line is lower) and an upper limit of 91.5.

What people do after that is highly variable.

Thanks! I'm really look foward to the change of pace and the trips under the new PWA generally seem to be making a turn for the better. Cheers!
