One example is some posters on FB were commenting on how Al Gore and John Kerry have been wrong about every climate prediction they've made since like 2000 (for Al Gore, Kerry came on board later). They were banned, almost instantly. Turns out they were correct. For on December 14th, 2009 in Copehhagen Al Gore is on video clearly stating that the ice caps would be gone by 2014. Hmmmmm.

This is from "X". never would have seen the light of day on the old twitter. Fact.

So who's right here and who's wrong? Seems to me there is still plenty of ice up there, and down there on the poles.

Yes, SM is manipulated for a purpose and that purpose heavily bias's to one side of the political spectrum. I'm glad Elon bought twitter and cleaned house. It was a good move. Much more is coming to light as a result becasue we can now have somewhat open discussions there without fear of irritating the purple haired cat lady who's moderating and has a very clear political slant (no offense to purple haired cat ladies out there - I happen to like cats, we have 4 of them running around here at the house, little furry killing machines).
They were scrubbing covid anti-masking posts as fast as possible. Another way to get banned even though if has now been proven that wearing masks doesn’t do anything to prevent covid.

Support our institutions (they mostly do a very good job).
That ship has sailed. Best case its "Three Felonies a Day" (book from Silverglate & Dershowitz) and worst case its rapidly devolving into Lavrentiy Beria running the show now.

Well no, it has not. The courthouse is how we resolve our differences and hold people accountable; by the decisions of our citizenry and our peers. Trump has been indicted by grand juries of our peers. As for Leninist tropes, you're understanding the influence Steve Bannon has had.

Face condoms prevent the spread of viruses, not completely but they help.

I know it’s hard to believe that the news lied to you completely over and over, but the studies have shown that the covid numbers were nearly identical between the places forcing mask wear and the places that weren’t.

The social media sites were pulling any links to legitimate scientific studies that didn’t fit the narrative.

We saw, and some of us cheered for the Arab Spring that was organized over social media.

January 6th set in motion the changes in command at Twitter, specifically banning President Trump for explicitly calling for a march on the Capitol. “Please arrive early, massive crowds expected,” the tweet reads. “March to the Capitol after." We now know the plan was to delay and disrupt the ministrative duties of Congress, then have allies in Congress change the outcome of the election. We also know that Trump stated the armed people in the crowd were not there to harm him.

Twitter had weak leadership and I do not think they knew what to do with what they had built. It began as a virtual "town square" and in fact there are ALL KINDS OF LAWS about what you can do you in your local town square. Jack Dorsey was in Papeete on a boat when the stuff went down.

Twitter became a way that Elites could communicate with "followers," not "friends." That was for some time maybe the best news feed there has ever been.

Today the lack of filtration has resulted in a sewer where very few wish to swim.

Of course, it is endemic.

I don't watch the news (haven't had a cable subscription since the 1990's) but masks (and condoms) have been around. These are about the simplest tools that exist.

The condom simile works. My howitzer is blazing and there are zillions of wanna-be Bucking Bar babies, but the spread is nearly eliminated.

Yeah, that's the visual ... :-)

Social Media, in general, is a sewer. Nothing worthwhile there. This is my only fix I have in that regard, and sometimes I regret this…

If people really believed what you said was true, Trump would have no chance of being re-elected. How’d he do last night in Iowa? I don’t think people are buying it anymore. Credit card debt is now the highest in history. Eventually the card gets maxed out, then the real cuts start. That is what is important to most people.

Cults are powerful and nonsensical. The vast majority of people he appointed as an ally have come out and called him unfit and dangerous. But, you all like mean tweets. So, this is the candidate we all get.

A moderate Republican would win the White House in a landslide.
