Irrelevant. HK claimed that overspeeds were occuring (which I'm sure is true) and cited .815 as an example. .815 is not an overspeed, whether FOQA tags it or not.

Funny though, the dudes most likely to ride the barber pole that I fly with are the senior ones.

about 45... before that they are pleasant and easy going, after they are angry old guys but mean is too strong a word, I'd say disgruntled

Maybe that's because the 737 community had a reputation of simply saying, "You should always land with at least 6.0." Years of using crutches like that cause people to panic when they get in situations where landing with 6.0 isn't an option.

Would you fly through a line of thunderstorms to protect that 6.0? Or would you use 10 minutes of fuel to deviate around it?
