Thanks for admitting it's all about you. But that's not how we get the best possible contract. If everyone looked out for their own personal interests, mgmt would crush us during negotiations. Is this your first airline contract negotiating cycle? It sure sounds like it. My guess is the coverage ladder just disappears and quick slip becomes the new normal until we get a contract that eliminates AA and OOBWS. I’m fine with that. At least progress is being made. |
100k is 255 hours of pay at 9 year 7ERA pay.
That's a lot of premium. Are there individuals "losing" that much? I'm sure there's a couple. It ain't a majority of us. But the leverage ww have via 23M7 costs we need to use. They want to be rid of AA? That's probably worth $XX per hour across the board. Or some other quid. I do not understand those who want to give up leverage. For nothin. -lazy RES guy who gets 1150+ hours of pay off under 300 block. |

Skipping from WS to cover a trip using GS has always been, and still is, legal under 23.M.7 (as long as an affected pilot is paid). Skipping pilots within a step (e.g. stopping coverage during WS pilot #5’s award window to award the trip to WS pilot #100) was formerly legal under 23.M.7, but no longer is following 25-05. This is what I was describing above. Stopping coverage before a step is fully completed and using 23.M.7 to award a trip using a later step has always been, and still is legal. |

For nothin. please destroy this mindset that you’re going to trade any part of the coverage ladder for a pay rate or dollar increase thats foolishness and you’ll lose the value of any perceived increase within one or two contract cycles |
I'm just saying these guys who want to nuke AA for no gain.
Positive space commuting? Maybe ground commuter protection? GFBs gone? Theres more than just money but everything will get monetized in section 6. Perhaps paid APD? Who knows. Company wants AA gone. I want something for it. A lot of something for it. Is "non crap tier health insurance with the company 100% out if the loop other than paying the premiums" a dream too far? I do not want to give it up for nothing like some of these guys. Probably won't happen but I also would like AA or UA to get to an acceptable payrate TA so we can concen more on non pay items as if they get a ratified contract, that effectively sets the floor, so we can concentrate in other areas. But, odds are DALPA is going to have to do the heavy lifting on pay again. |
