Then you'll have about 3 yrs seat lock (2 for the upgrade + whatever was left from the previous seat). The AE page should tell you exactly when your seat lock expires

I have a freeze still and I’m showing an award on the mock. I’m not sure if the mock takes that into account or not but the company has discretion I think to break locks if it benefits them.

With the 787 potentially adding to our WB fleet, do we think we'll see a fleet that does both domestic and international lile the 7ER?

A350 has a few domestic trips, mostly one and two day. Some four leg days running back and forth between ATL - MCO.

I’ve been wondering that recently too. With all the airspace/airport constraints we have, would it be worth it to configure certain WBs for short haul ops like the A-300. Maybe replace the a330-300s on intl routes with -900s and convert the -300s to a short haul optimized cabin. I would think they could hold 350+ pax and would allow us to increase capacity into places that are currently slot/airspace constrained.

Very doubtful aside from AC positioning flights. They’d either have to be dedicated domestic config or half lay flat. Not sure if a larger WB would be able to command that much premium pricing especially when lay flat transcons have became an LCC level commodity with hundreds of thousands of seats being dumped per year at fractions of previous yields.

The 787 should be intentionally used on some domestic legs for a yer or two while the fleet stands up otherwise a significant share of the initial pilot group will get 3X pay all year. The “flagship“ concept is cool but first every new pilot needs legs and landings and that’s hard to come by 12-16 hours at a time.

I'm pretty doubtful. The reason the 7ER category is a mix of international and domestic is because the equipment is a mix of WB 767 and NB 757. If the split were on the other side as 767-300 & 767-400 category and a 757 category. The 767 bid package would be a similar mix to other WBs. Obviously, as the 767-300 winds down, that won't continue to be the case, but that's how it's been. If they made the 320 and 330 one category, sure that could have a similar split to the 7ER, but it isn't going to happen. I don't think I've ever done anything on a 763 other than JFK-LAX/SFO and long haul int'l. And that's pretty much exactly what the 765 has done for the past decade excluding covid.
