These letters seem illegal under New York law assuming they've been sent to NY-based pilots.

NYS Section 196-B:
No employer or their agent, or the officer or agent of any
corporation, partnership, or limited liability company, or any other
person, shall discharge, threaten, penalize, or in any other manner
discriminate or retaliate against any employee because such employee has
exercised their rights afforded under this section, including, but not
limited to, requesting sick leave or paid prenatal leave and using sick
leave or paid prenatal leave, consistent with the provisions of section
two hundred fifteen of this chapter.

There are questions about legality in CA as well. Added to the allegations for violating CA pay transparency, this letter could create some legal bills. DL is already on thin ice in several states over state sick leave.

“It’s not illegal until a judge tells us it is.”

I can’t wait to see how that turns out for these clowns.

Honestly laws are becoming meaningless in this country. The government is constantly violating the laws and ignoring court rulings against them. Now corporations are emboldened and taking a page out of the government's playbook.

Also, with Bryan Bedford from Republic in charge of the FAA and Duffy as transportation secretary, our ASAPs and pleas about pilot pushing will fall on deaf ears.

What's your point other than trying to be a jack wagon?

I thought, perhaps, this was an angle to punish commuters again. I'm a lifelong commuter BTW

Neither a CA nor a NY judge will offer management the same hospitality as maple syrup guy.

The CA pay transparency issue cost United over $70 million for pilots and FAs combined. Delta has been out of compliance even longer.

I do agree that the FAA won’t do anything about the letter. That’s been their longstanding MO, regardless of who’s in charge.

We get treated like adults at AA. Never even got this treatment in my regional days.

Is it a letter that is sent through the mail or via email? If its “legal” to do so, if someone has the cookie cutter version please post it.

where is alpa? Bueller?

My post on self policing has nothing to do with the 50 hour rule regardless. It’s about the differences in the systems. UAL gets 60 hours a year. After that sick leave is unpaid.
You couldn’t be more wrong.
