Delta Pilot Intimidation
#62
It is truly incredible and predictable that every time management thinks they have the solution to breaking the pilots' will and/or busting the union--that they have finally discovered the path to making every pilot think like a widget cultist--they step on their dicks and p!ss the pilots off even more.
This is exactly the kind of nonsense pilots who were hired since the last round of negotiations need to see--when the fake, insincere veneer of "we're here to support pilots" and "we've got your back" fades away to the inevitable toxic brew of passive-aggressive douchery and flat-out pilot pushing. **** these goons, every one of them.

And I love how they wildly inflate and assume facts not in evidence by acting like they already caught you with your hand in the cookie jar: “Continued use of Widget's absence programs in ways that do not align with the Pilot Working Agreement or Widget policies may lead to further action, including possible discipline”
Unbelievably tone deaf and misguided.

Bingo. Reminds me of “what’s a SIL?”

its neither tone deaf nor misguided, it’s very intentional. The company cannot discipline pilots for this, including putting letters in files. They know that, so they do this instead, to get as close to discipline as possible without making it actual, grievable discipline. Their goal is to reduce sick usage and it will probably work in that regard.
I would expect ALPA to release a comm very soon, reminding pilots of the Harris arbitration award (ATL 03-09), as well as the fact that Handel’s threats of discipline are completely without merit.
Handel has lost the confidence of the pilot group — in record time for someone in that position. Anything he says from this point forward bears no merit.

The pilot group won’t be the slightest bit deterred by this. It will have the opposite effect, just as the attempted auto-accept intimidation did.

The fact that it took most pilots 3 years to discover how nice auto accept is still astounds me.
