If you are going to call people out, you at least better know your own FOM. Embarassing.
When I was a new hire I had one of my NH meetings with the CPO in the middle of jacket season. Per the FOM we are not required to wear the brass on the shirt if we are wearing the jacket in public. Well I obviously had my jacket off during the meeting, and at the end the CP, granted in a friendly manner, added to make sure that in the future I wore my brass on my shirt. I had to tell them that the FOM specifically allows us to not wear the brass during jacket season, a fact which CP obvioulsy was unaware of. So yeah, there's a lot in the FOM that they don't know, and usually they know even less about the PWA.

FAFO. Not only do we have a ton of leverage now going into section 6, the unity is getting tighter and tighter. Gonna be an adversarial year or two ahead. Time to crank those apu’s and scoot right after block in, no more saying goodbye and thanks for flying with us.

When do the lime green lanyards show up??

Having done both, the military has the same "what's he book/reg say" game as I had in my CFI days. Lots of super reg-offs in the military. It paired nicely with knowing the rule you were breaking.

Sorry, they didn't send them out to retirees.

Well, against better judgement, I’ll say I received one. I’m just under 100 look back and even reached out to the CPO mid December to tell them I’m working on a health issue, did they need anything, etc. Was told good luck and they’d be in touch if they need something.

They all read the same. Pretty disheartening language.

The actions of a few RDs, and those above them, have made the CPO of today a complete joke. The most knowledgeable, helpful CPs were summarily returned to the line “early” for being too pilot friendly. The offices have whittled down to the lowest common denominator, employing some shockingly unqualified people.

The CPO has become my absolute last resort for any issue. When I talk to other pilots who have asked them questions in recent times, it’s incredible how many have received bad or outright incorrect answers.

At this point, the company might as well outsource GFB calls to India, deploy AI robots in the ATL concourses for uniform patrol, and lay off 95% of the CPO staff.

Now you've got me imagining those new automated wheelchairs in DTW acting as the uniform police.

[Robot Voice] “Where’s your … hat?”
[Robot Voice] “No jacket detected. Standby, checking your active rotation for destination exemptions. DBMS login failed, error code 75. Have a nice day. TYFAYD.”
