This question isn't meant to be answered. But I am freaking out about what's about to happen to the world economy and to the ME?
What happens if it goes to hell this summer? We pause negotiations until the new normal normalizes? What's the procedure for when black swans happen right in the middle of negotiations? Is that what happened in covid? I wasn't here yet.
If all that happens we still have auto accept, still have 23M7, etc. Maybe it'll bail them out this summer, but the issue isn't going to disappear, and they'll have to address it eventually.

It would be poetic justice to see the pilot group reject a lukewarm quick deal in MEMRAT, after management rushes all self-serving IT modifications in anticipation of a “Delta pilots always vote yes” outcome.

(Not that I don’t have full faith in the MEC to put the kibosh on a lukewarm deal.)

This was the way it was when I was hired. I liked that system better. I like the more pay we have on reserve now but the FIFO worked better. As a senior reserve bidder now I would still take that system over raw buckets.

That possibility is going to be priced into any negotiations that are underway right now. What happens if the jet fuel supply doesn’t go to hell this summer, and we’ve sold ourselves short? We’re bartering the most valuable piece of leverage we’ve had in a very long time. A rushed FOMO deal is the greater threat.

Not our problem. What the gonkulator does or does not do is immaterial. This management never invested in gonkulator 2.0 and now they want pilot concessions to make it all work? N and O. See yall at the road shows in 2027 or 2028. If we get an AIP on 15 May, then we will get language 1 June. 45 days later is 15 July and August bids will already be out. This summer is already lost.

Black swans always happen during negotiations. That's why it takes so long if there isn't an obvious one to exploit then management has to ramp up the doom and gloom for their made up one until a real one presents itself. Pro tip: pilot costs normalize across the industry regardless and become fixed costs that then inform price and capacity. Just like fuel they will pay for the necessary inputs and charge prices accordingly.

Not nearly as interesting as when they pulled down the PS for the other employee groups, and not only have to backtrack on that, but purchase the airplanes they said were “gone forever”.
