Don’t care either way, but adding for context.
You’re correct — leveling doesn’t exist at any other legacy.

Seniority has already been watered down at Delta more so than any of our peers. I think we’re finally moving in the right direction by moving toward less leveling.

Every pilot here, who isn’t a new hire, has at least some degree of control over their relative seniority.

What are some examples of this that come to mind?

Lol…go and talk to any other airline pilot. Most of their things are first come, first serve and they use bots to get their trips. I would say to the contrary, we are the one that still uses seniority heavier.

SS level mechanism other than WS max Pickup, should exist for SS as it does for GS/QS/IA/F, etc etc

Facts. Friends at UA get chewed on for picking up trips per the contract when they become available under aggressive pick up…because more senior people don’t know or understand how the provision works. SM bots tell me the new aggressive pickup at AA is driving senior pilots batty.

My junior AA friends think it's horrible as well.

As a UA pilot, I’ve never seen this. Maybe what you mean is aggressive pick up when it comes to premium? If that’s the case, that’s because we have a tiered system. 50%/75%/100%. Senior guys HATE when a junior guy picks up a trip for 50% premium because the senior guys wait for the trip to go to 100% (y’all’s 200%).

Senior guys want it to go to 100%, but that would mean only the top 20% of each category would get premium. 50%-75% seem to be the only way more junior guys get any premium.

We also don’t have bot users because our IT is robust and won’t allow it. What we do is put in a pick up criteria and the system will honor it if it can. That’s part of the internal workings of our tradeboard though and everyone has access to that

This is good info.

I bolded your quote above because DAL's "200%" isn't really a thing. A premium DAL trip is 100% typical pay + 100% premium pay, which I'm sure is the same as what you're describing at 100% premium pay.

DAL doesn't have any premium mechanism that pays +200% in addition to normal pay (soft pay notwithstanding.) DAL also does not have the +50% or +75% pay that you describe.

This certainly debunks the idea that our seniority has been “watered down at Delta more so than any of our peers.”

I thought it was a silly notion when I read it, and believe that even more now.
