Wore mine the whole time. Never got even the slightest hint from anyone that I was ruffling feathers. But also saw very few other instructors join in. No idea why.

They should also be available for WS or PS. While they are soaking and after they have soaked. If someone wants that trip for single pay, why block them out? Most likely no one will, but maybe someone does and now can't hold it because it goes senior to them as a silver slip. Win win for the individual pilot and the company for pay purposes.

That’s great, too bad the others didn’t get it.

Every idea would have unintended consequences for credit surfers take advantage of. Don't hate the player, hate the game. Big picture, I don't think there is enough heartburn amongst the pilot group about SS to warrant any changes in the PWA.
SS leveling is a "wild idea?" You mean leveling it like all the other premium players we have is a wild idea. Surely not.

Because every other then of premium is available to Reserves.

Why NOT allow Res to get SS?

Once we ‘fix’ the coverage ladder, I suspect SS will be pretty rare though.

How does having a SS counter, or limiting SS to one per PCS run have unintended consequences? Not talking about an edge case, in general, how would that allow “credit surfers [to] take advantage of” the specific consequences of a SS counter?

Every other premium slip is available to them, why wouldn't they get a SS? Of course we all know the reason why, because it was designed to decrease PB days, which is why SS were a concession.

This comes across as a misunderstanding of premium pay differences between reserve and line. A line holder gets double pay for a premium trip in most cases. A reserve gets pay above guarantee and a payback day in lieu of double pay.

How do you propose implementing payback days for a line holder? Would they get single pay and a payback day instead of double pay?

Reserve should have access to silver slips just like they have access to all other forms of premium pay via IA, GS and QS. SS is discriminatory against reserves.

Have it be on a rolling year basis.

GS, SS, QS. Every time you work extra is tracked.

Premium should go by seniority at the beginning of the year and then as it’s worked the person who is eligible and has not gotten any premium (or has the least amount) should go to the front of the line for the next time premium is available.
Wow. They can’t get swipe out sick to work, or pay the correct 23m7 pilot every time, but I’m sure they would get something as intractable as that to work fine…. /s
