Considering the very costly high-cycle heavy check, they would have to create oil to be worth it. These one-time overhauls are supposedly so cost-prohibitive, it's cheaper to just buy a used one on the black market. I don't know if Delta has even done one yet; Comair's aircraft were just scrapped.

No they are not selling that. I really don't know what they are selling at the LAX Kool-Aid stand. Out west, we have really nothing to gain. I've been in the same seat for a decade except a teaser 73N-A position for a year or so.

DALPA DOES NOT REPRESENT LAX PILOTS. The previous post about buying the cow while the milk is free says it all. BUT!!!!!! What if those cows were in ATL? The milkers of those cows would care A LOT more.

No hurt feelings, but I think the level of discourse here has hit a new low, at least when we're in disagreement.

I took a look at the 73. The average day worked was 4.94 hours. That includes 30 hour trips that touch 3 days. The average line was 79 hours and the average pilot had 16.12 days off working 13.78 days. Again the trips looked ugly to me. LA is probably one of the worst bases for trip construction but not as bad as posted.
Keep in mind that in both the 76 and 73 these are lines as awarded. A significant number of pilots will improve their lines through swaps and drops/pickups. As on the 767 this includes vacation since its to hard to break out and was CA lines only.

No, because you'd be giving up a jet we already fly at mainline.

Sailing, if you take the vacation out of the equation, the results are a lot worse. Flying 75 hrs and getting 10:30 for a 3 day trip, you'll have to work 7.1 trips. That means you'll be flying 21 days. Many of these three days trips are not commutable. The TA will not help correct this flaw. We should have close to 6 hrs pay per day at work. Just one of the items missing from this concessionary agreement.

CVG,

I agree. Its pretty sad when guys resort to personal attacks because others disagree with them. I am still undecided on my vote and have changed my mind numerous times and would like to hear logic and facts to help me decide. Even opinion based on supposition and conjecture would be OK. Please spare us the personal insults.

I understand the passion of the no voters - I share it about certain aspects of this TA but attacking "Yes" and "undecided" voters does not help the cause.

Roadie,

The three day 10.5 trips are extremely unpopular and often end up in Open time in my category LAX 73N. I have to disagree with you about them being not commutable though. Due to the 3.5:1 the highest TAFB that you can have is 36.75 hours. How can you not commute when the TAFB is less than 37 hours?

Our redeyes check in at night and release early on day 3. There are some really crappy trips that retun later on day three but they generally pay more than 10.5 hours - although not enough, I agree with you here.

From Steve Dickson's Code a Phone:

Now, getting back to that myth, since the TA and 717 acquisition were announced, some have expressed concern that the 717s will come with pilots as part of the deal. I can tell you unequivocally that this is not the case. Let me say very clearly that the 717s at Delta would be flown by Delta pilots currently on the seniority list or those we hire to the bottom of the seniority list through our existing hiring processes in the future. I’ll repeat: the 717s will be flown by current and/or new hire Delta pilots, period.
Talk amongst yourselves.
