My argument for better leverage in 2016 is a simple issue of supply and demand. When 5 airlines need 10,000 pilots in the following 10 years, where will the most highly qualified pilots go? To the highest compensating airline with the best work rules. Where are they all flocking now? Oh wait. They're not.

APC Lurker,
Or as one Pan Am pilot famously said: "If Pan Am flies a kite, the string has to be held by a Pan Am pilot" |

Because this is how it starts.
I would bet some of the discussion being held back in the day when rj's were first given away was: "it's only 50 seat aircraft and flying, and they're small jets, nobody will want them anyways, and they're not even Boeing....." Then later... |

You know what the beauty of the 3 year contract model is?
Every time you want to do something your pilots will view as positive you can now just sit on it until the last year and then roll it out with some sort of desired concessions. That way nothing good, like more airplanes, ever happens without forcing a concession elsewhere. You can't do that as often with a 5 year contract, but a 3 year you can. Not to mention the "we'll get them next time" mentality it creates. |
So, when do we vote?

There is a word for the small RJs, I want to say it's called FLAPS? F-ing little airplanes or F-ing little airplane pilots. Anyways, someone i was talking to says those words are still thrown about where they shouldn't be.
Yep. I wonder if pilots back in the day had the same "beneath us" opinion of the dc9-10. Because if they didn't, I'm not sure why they do now as some of these rj's are basically the same bleeping airplane. I think nw's dc9-10's had 84 seats?? Stretching the memory back there, can't quite remember. |

That is a fantastic idea. If we win a grievance, let's just feel good about winning while and then roll over on the reason for the grievance in the first place!
Curious, how do you feel about the handful of A319s we have configured with about 30 seats and gold trim? |

I expect such spineless, senseless, offensive verbal diarrhea from management. Coming from a line pilot - ostensibly a unionist! - it's downright appalling.
The "If you don't like it, quit" argument is old and busted . |

Need to get the roadshow video up for those of us who were not able to go. |
