Thanks For flight loads on most airlines, I use flightstats.com and search "Flight Availability" under the Flights tab. It doesn't give you a direct readout of seats available but does tell you the number of tickets still available for purchase in each fare bucket. I've found it a pretty handy tool for flights the world over (American being a notable exception). |

That's all. Fly safe, GJ Now, can you please explain why, given our competitive set at Delta Air Lines, that we were not able to obtain all of your wildest contractual desires? Or are you just sniveling? |

I saw several FA's use the KCM checkpoint in pit last week
I am pretty sure that they are doing a Beta test with at least 1 airline. Saw the same thing in MSP a few weeks ago. Scoop |

Hey guys, For about the last two years Compass has allowed Delta pilots to utilize the flight attendent jumpseats for commuting purposes. Thats up to three pilot jumpseaters per flight. So far this has been a one way agreement, with no offical reciprocity on mainline Delta flights. The union has indicated that if some sort of reciprocal agreement does not come into being, the ability for Delta pilots to use Compass flight attendent jumpseats could get shut down. If you get a chance, bug some of the base/system chief pilots and send an email to your reps. Thanks

Using threats-lovely.
I didn't read that as a threat at all. He is basically asking for us to fix something that should be fixed. Whats the big deal? Scoop |

Superpilot, Furious, and Junglebus-- thanks much guys for the United nonrev info. Indeed, it was getting some idea of flightloads that I needed to decide whether I could make a trip early tomorrow morning that started with a DH and just popped into open time.
It all looked good... until the United folks told me my intended flight 0-darkthirty tomorrow am just got cancelled. doh! |

Thanks http://content.ytmnd.com/content/5/0...dc0a70a12a.jpg To put it in perspective, DL doesn't allow any offline pilots in their FA jumpseats. Its not like the company is just being mean to CPZ pilots or anything. Using that extremely limited benefit (but a benefit nontheless) on 30 something planes as collateral for forcing sweeping changes at an airline with 700-800 planes is pretty balsy. And stupid. Make the request. Run it up the chain. You'd likely have most if not all DL pilots agree with you on that. But don't use it as a threat especially when you bring 5% of the seats in question to the table in the first place and then attempt to use that as threatening leverage to force sweeping changes that the company doesn't extend to anyone else anyway right now. I support the request, but someone needs to step off the "do it or else" nonsense. You can't win anything that way. There are only varying degrees of losing. |

I agree with you JungleBus and next time I talk to my CP I'll ask him why (as of now) it's not allowed.
The 'workaround' that I have used many times, when I see an offline pilot at the gate and I've got the cockpit jumpseat booked is, I'll take the F/A jumpseat, so the off line guy can go in the cockpit. I'll also ask him why F/A's can't sit in the cockpit JS. Prior to 9-11 we were putting the A line (Purser) on the cockpit jumpseat just to observe our ops, so they would (hopefully) learn what we are doing up there, on T/O and Landings. They would return to the cabin as soon as we got the seatbelt light off, and return on descent to observe the landing. I thought it was a great program, but it stopped after 9-11. I don't see why it couldn't come back now. |
