So the 717 trips will be very similar to DC-9 trips?

Does that mean 22 leg 5 day trips on the 717? With air conditioning, probably doesn't even seem like work. Still.

Yeah, I'll stick with the mighty mad dog over the schnauzer. If it's anything like the 9 that's way too much work.

When a guy does this to a girl, it's called letting her down easy. We put out - signed that TA for them. Now we are wondering whether they really love us, or were they just saying that late at night in the back of the car? Our mommas always told us, why buy the cow when you can buy all the milk in Alaska, France, and the Netherlands for free (or something like that). We might get mad at them now for taking advantage of us. They're not worried, though. They'll see us again in about three years, tell us how beautiful we look, and we'll forget all about this time.

I think we'll be lucky if new hires come on next fall. Good thing we raised the ALV? Oh well, this group of pilots is very ambitious, apparently 68% of our pilot group wants to work more.

Quick question: I am currently on long term mil leave but have an opportunity to attend the R&I Seminar in Seattle. Are these seminars worth attending?

I think they are. I attended one as a new hire and learned some stuff about the contract that I didn't know. There is a LOT of dry stuff there, but if you aren't doing anything more important, I think it is worth your while.

ATL Question ...

Stupid question, how many takeoffs and landings does Delta & Delta Connection do each day in ATL? Bonus points if you can also tell me what the max takeoffs landings per hour would be.

To those that respond, thanks for the help.

Don't know the DCI info but ATL can handle in optimal weather 126 aircraft landing per hour. OIS then go to east directory and ZTL it will show you the arrival rate for every runway set up and vis.

That article is final proof of what a farce the bankruptcy process has become. AMR was never "bankrupt" in the traditional sense.
Chapter 11 is nothing but a fancy way to get out of labor contracts and dump some inconvenient assets.

When unions are not willing to put their own survival at risk for the membership, mgmts have nothing to fear. They know the operation will keep running no matter what. The AF pilots have recently agreed to cost cutting measures without job losses. I think the reason is a healthy respect on both sides of the consequences of unilateral action. There is no such fear in our country.
