Needles Found In Turkey Sandwiches On Four Delta Flights

This is the needle story. I know it was touched on and scoffed about a few pages back, but I was surprised at how little response there was from you guys. As one of the masses longing for his chance at a job with Delta, I was pretty concerned by this news. Am I making too much out of this?

Yes.

How will this affect business for Delta?

It won't.

Will it be forgotten by the public or will the public not be affected at all?

Correct.

I would love to hear some predictions.

The Patriots are going to win the Super Bowl, or Tom Brady is going to divorce Giselle...

Oh, and Tebow will sit on the bench all season for the Jets.

I know Delta is a huge company and will overcome this negative publicity, but when competition is so fierce between the airlines, shouldn't I be concerned?

Yes, be afraid, be very afraid.

I'm sorry I couldn't figure out how to embed it in my post. Yes: FNG...

Not to worry, we figured it out...

Oh, and welcome to APC. :D

How much tailwheel time you got?

Just go to the Drudge Report. One of the headlines says "United Plane Plunges 20,000 Feet Over The Atlantic". The aircraft had an engine problem and they did a track divert back to Gander.

I hear from my friends at Delta that it is a great place to work and that everyone is so happy. Now I question that, after some of your responses

:) I think a lot of us would question that :D

Does anyone think we will see vacancies on this next AE? The last couple have been backwards. I fear that the aircraft (737, MD90), if only replacement aircraft, will result in more displacements. Or rather, a complete shake up of everyone junior to a 777 or 747 CA.

I think it depends on what "Network" does with the equipment. Lately they've been playing musical chairs, via A/E's, with both displacements and vacancies.

In their last blurb they mentioned being short of 777 pilots in DTW, but then said it might be cheaper to DH the ATL 777 guys up to DTW. So will they displace ATL 777 pilots, and add to DTW?

AND...they still have to wait to see how many guys actually bite on the early out program, then decied who can go, and decide how many of those guys they are going to replace.

So...to answer your question;

A definite Maybe.

It will depend on how many take the early out. That said, I think you'll see both vacancies and displacements, as we have for the past several AEs. As always 'Bid what you want; Want what you bid' is the best advice when considering your options.

Oddly I think this ties into a Regional thread about the "BRO".

You know what part of that article surprised me the most? The fact that an American based airline would use a 757 on a LHR slot.

If the article was right and it was a 757 going IAD-LHR.
