Heard as of yesterday 176 on the RMA. Figure 10-20% backout for a total of ~150. I guess this kills once and for all the early retirement and all it needed was a medical plan myth.
I guess a bunch of junior pilots are going to get a displacement pay cut instead of a raise, and no new hires for a while. The further capacity reductions sort of kills the hope of the 2013 flying plan making up for the productivity increases and RMA shortfall. I bet 717A and 88A all go more, not less senior than before the TA |

FYI... EWR KCM is NOT at the DAL gates... It is ONLY in operation at the C (aka UCAL) terminal...
Misleading..... EWR is "partially operational" with KCM.....:mad: |

The target for the RMA was around 250 pilots. Even if only 150 take it that's 100 fewer pilots than the target. I doubt a bunch of junior pilots are going to get displaced over 100 fewer positions. Especially since the 717's are growth airplanes. On top of that we don't know what the 2013 flying plan is going to be. I'm guessing we are going to start hiring early next year.
What will determine what actually happens is the economy. If it tanks the bids will be ugly. If things start to turn around then it will be much better. To paraphrase, "Its the economy stupid". Winter ticket sales to Europe are already weak so lets hope the summer flying plan for 13 does not take to big a hit. The contract we just signed is nothing but a blip compared to the economy when it comes to future pilot jobs at Delta. |
