And news from airlines where the Ceo does not say "capacity reductions are our leverage" ....

American commits to three more 777-300ERs
By:
Aaron Karp

American Airlines (AA) on Friday exercised options for two Boeing 777-300ERs and upgraded a 777-200ER it had on order to a -300ER.

AA said that, including the exercised options and upgrade, it has commitments for 18 777s, comprising 13 -300ERs and five -200s.

AA is the only US carrier to have ordered the 777-300ER. Its first is slated to be delivered later this year.
United preparing to launch 787 in North America; reaches initial accord with pilots

United Airlines (UA), the North American launch customer for the Boeing 787, said it will take delivery of the first of 50 Dreamliners it has on order in September.
Alaska expects to add more than 6% to its available seat miles this year. That translates into six new transcontinental markets from its U.S. Pacific Northwest stronghold this year. “We like that math,” Pedersen says.

Yes, shrinkage really happens, it's just opposite for women. Now what do you say we get into some hot water?

Bar, How many pilots does AMR have on furlough. How many pilots does UAL have on furlough. How long ago did Alaska recall their last furloughed pilot and how many pilots have they hired compared to Delta since 2007?

Attention.... ATL M88 B is officially out of pilots today and weather is adding insult to injury and kicking in this morning.

For those of you, unlike me, who are in town... ya'll have fun.

So you are required to check your schedule at the end of your rest? That would make that one minute NOT rest. The 5 hours until your assignment would be included in your duty time. That's pretty basic. They can't have it both ways. They don't get a rolling max duty day to begin whenever they want it to begin, but until it begins its considered rest, even though you HAVE to check your schedule during that "rest". That's completely unreasonable and pushing the limits of the regs. The time I pushed it CS and ALPA agreed with me. Be very careful going more than 16 hours beyond 10AM. Hopefully your trip finishes earlier than that anyway, but if not I'd check hard into it.
