It depends on whether the guy has a point. I've got enough confidence in my own abilities as a manager to not react to criticism defensively.
Of course your example is predicated on a complete lie, so it really does not mean any more than my goading you to "take your best shot." I was complimentary of the management team who hired me. My concern is for the long term viability and success of Delta Air Lines.
You are an interesting paradox. An alleged union insider who suggests an appropriate response is to fire other pilots.

I have many concerns about some actions by Delta and the business plan. I also however follow the golden rule I was always taught about both being in a leadership position or a employee. You praise in public and condemn in private. In fact I just wrote a long letter to management about my experience with the NY operation. I however signed my name to the letter and sent in private.
Here ya go...let me reset those for you.
Ooops...guess I should have read on to Check's post prior to posting.
Let's try this....Is it just me or is it nipply out here?

"...Well, look again. Do you see any water on this release? Do you see a single mother-[bleeping] drop of deicing fluid on this release? Now, clean that [bleep] up you got all over my cockpit, and get your towels and your tampons off my window, and I'm going to show you it is possible to have a tidy Maddog cockpit, and to get the crap to flow back out the window!"

Thanks for noticing my entry. You guys are putting up some hilarious stuff. This is like hitting the mother-lode. Not since Airplane has a movie given us so much to work with.
I'm thinking of a CRM motif next. Something along the lines of "Oh, you want a leg, now do you? Only three days into this rotation, and now you want to fly? Well, let me lay down this crew concept on you..."
Something like that...

Do you suggest we shut down web boards?
Word to the wise: If a Delta ticket agent swears for 10 minutes that "Fly for Less" tickets are refundable (Fly for EVEN Less are not per the webpage, but Fly for Less are supposed to be), and you buy some as a backup for your family vacation because Delta doesn't give you even one PS for family vacation a year, and you try to cancel them 3 day early to get your $$ back as promised...
... you're going to get seriously bent over.
And when they decide to charge you the "change fee" of $150/ticket instead of the cancel fee they promised would apply if $29 per ticket, and just give you a credit towards some future flight instead of the actual refund as promised, don't even THINK about questioning them.
And if you even TRY to discuss it and bring up the fare rules and pamphlets linked to the Fly for Less page to support that you should get your $1900 back as promised when you bought the "refundable" tickets, which you wisely printed to be sure you could get the promised refund, you're going to get threatened with having your Non-rev privileges being revoked.
Last time I EVER try to fly on Delta for $$, or try to give them my business. That 20% "savings" as an employee was the most expensive ticket I never used in my life, and getting threatened by a ticket agent to shut up and take the loss was just unbelievable. NOT a huge fan of my company just now.
