Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
As another poster pointed out though, the company can waive the freeze.
So have a bid in there if you want something.
Also very important --, if you are bidding for your first Captain seat, the freeze will not prevent the award.
Your old freeze just gets added to your new freeze. (Section 22.G.4.)
I posted, then forgot, the numbers. Seems like Atlantic down 15%, domestic down 1%, Latin America up 4%, Asia Pac holding its own ... and that was block hours, not capacity.
We are down YOY overall.
Yes, DCI is going to get hit hard. But, they are currently so short staffed that they may not notice much pain. Over the summer they've been blocking out to the FAR max .
Just read that California municipals are setting up 40 year no pay, interest accumulating debts. A 40 year balloon payment of over a Billion dollars to finance 100 million now. Ironically the teachers that shape our children, the cops that Police our streets and the Firemen that protect our homes are going to be what destroy our nation, as it is impossible to pay them the retirement and benefits spineless politicians have promised. Not sure when California slides into the economic ocean, but it is inevitable. As the State gets in trouble it will push it's problems to the local jurisdictions which will fold like a house of cards.
Welcome to the new Third World, the only advice I can give is, buy a truck. Cars are all but useless when the government can no longer maintain the roads.

With the 7th largest (I believe) economy IN THE WORLD, California is more than capable of taking the entire US economy down the toilet thru it's incompetence. With a Governor like Doobie Brown, and US Congresspeople like Dianne Feinstein and the Pelosibama, we should absolutely be afraid of that. Yes.. Buy a truck. It can carry more gold and bullets than a Hybrid anyway.

This bid is only the first of 3 bids that will fill the RMA's leaving and staff for the flying schedule next summer. Until the final block hour plan is out from marketing we wont know what the next bids will look like.
For all the angst on the contract the net effect on jobs is expected to be 125 to 150 positions. That accounts for the 300 to 340 lost via the ALV 15 and 2 hour increase mitigated by the other productivity changes in our favor on the contract.
Contrast that with block hours. If the company decides to fly the schedule next summer with a net 5% reduction from this summer then we lose 500 plus jobs. Block hours are going to be what determines the next bids. The contract we just signed will have little to do with it. In the end it all comes down to the economy. Lets hope it improves.

Correct but if it's a Flag dispatched flight, there is not duty limit because Whitlow does not apply.
I got my truck...

punks.

There is no augment that the new work rules cost pilot jobs. Best case ALPA stated 125-150 jobs lost but if the pre posting of known absences does not yield the added positions projected, that number goes up.
