I did the long OAK layover last night... looong van ride this morning, and even better the van driver fell asleep at the wheel this morning. When he woke up he jumped and jerked the wheel to the right. I think we all thought we were gone. The FA in front of me was the only one not wearing a seatbelt.... he quickly donned it.

I have to say, I did 3 years of reserve under the raw system and have been under this system since it started. Long call under the old system in my view was better for more pilots and the same QOL for senior pilots. SC under the new system is better for all pilots.
I've been on the horn with DALPA about this since January and basically their reply is this:
- 80 raw score represents 5 or 6 days flying and a short call and that is why we will stick with it. It's low enough.
- This implementation was exactly designed to bring seniority back into the reserve system.
- Under the old reserve system senior pilots did not fly for weeks and junior pilots broke guarantee on a regular basis. The company wanted to equal this situation out hence the RUO/RAW system, but that relegated seniority out of the system, the SOT was directed to correct it, company said no, SOT pushed for YS to a point or as far as we could.
- Upon reply80 raw score is not too high, it only represents 5 or 6 days of flying plus a short call.
See that part about the company wanting to equal out the situation? I think they will figure out a way making it a... well... I mean who cares what a cow thinks?
So if I say something like "my pay raise is actually 5% 10% 5% 5%" does that make it so?
Maybe 6 days of flying and a SC that gets you a 2 day trip will get you into the second bucket, but 6 days of flying and a SC alone will not do it. Well, maybe if all 6 days are 15-hour days......don't know the parameters they're using to come to this conclusion. Find it interesting that even though this is patently false it's still put out as supposed truth.

With all this reserve talk I figured I'd share my summer experience as a jr 88B in ATL. I acknowledge that I am jrand therefore I shouldn't complain. This is more sharing then anything else.
June: over 90 hours and one SC. I did yellow slip at the end of the month and bank.
July: flew ALV (I think 82 hrs) and one SC and got the last week of the month off.
August: about 100 hrs and one SC. Got a green slip as a bottom reserve and was called about a second. Never yellow slipped.
I was able to make some extra cash on my own accord but next summer I will be flying every single day to ALV+15 without a choice. That sucks. On top of that, I will now only get 12 days off during each of the three busiest months.
As you can see, I don't get too many SCs because I can't get a single weekend off and I am always assigned a rotation before I get a SC or the credit that should go towards a SC (assigned a rotation that starts more then 12 hrs from the start of SC). If there happens to be a day later in the month that I am in the second bucket (having flown about 8 days already) and am not assigned a rotation, I get SC because I haven't had any yet. Now I will probably fly before a guy who hasn't flown at all, simply because that guy was in the next bucket for SCs.

How many MD90's do they have left to enter the system? Does anyone know what % increase in the pilot block hours will result from the additional 90's and when the deliveries will cease?
