Hey you PCS experts,
I know the new TA "eliminates trip parking." There's a cabal of guys doing it. I heard today that they have a work around. Is that possible? If so, how could they do it? Its BS and I want to stop it. Thanks. |

Also, Shiz, I hope it is net positive and not marginally. Things like Fo rotation guarantee upon assignment are ways to make sure that reroutes are not the only way they deal with duty limit issues. In that regard reroute pay needs to be improved for domestic and international. Nine hrs unaugmented and ULH rules could cause a lot of gains to be negated. |

You have not read the rule. While the flight hour portion would allow that the duty time portion would actually mean many current flights would need augmentation that currently operate with 2 men.

How could any line holder have headroom to pick up a 67hr. trip, unless he's 'parked' a trip off his line to get far enough under the cap to do it, unless he just straight up dropped the trip, in which case it should have gone into open time...but I didn't see anything there except two big trips worth 67 hr. and 58 hrs. Both were picked up on white slips....how? So, I think there are still some games going on...:rolleyes: |

Not with a 48-hour layover, right? A 48-hour layover "turns" a US pilot "into" a Euopean pilot, and so a lot current 3-man trips can become 2-man trips. This negates the limitation to a shorter duty day, and we can do NYC-BRU/CVG/FRA/MAD/BCN etc. with two pilots.

How many Europe trips depart the USA prior to 1pm? I realize they could easily change the departure times to make it happen, but I think the loads would suffer. |

So, I think there are still some games going on...:rolleyes: I think this is a by-product of pmNWA pilots looking at the new system, and trying to figured out how it's used (I don't mean abused, just that it's 5,000 guys taking a fresh look, without the burden of tradition), and realizing WS gets served before SWP, and naturally infering that they would need to drop and WS to effect schedule changes. In addition, having worked under a system that rewarding high-time months, with X1.5>80HRS, they cast a suspicious eye on the GS system, as it rewarded fewer pilots, less predictably. Add in other non-merger factors, such a low pay driving desperate bhavior, an ultra-permissive swap system that lets people get around max pickup, and we're slowly getting to an FAR-limit-only airline. It's completely backwards from where we should be, but it is what it is. |

That's because you've laid over 48 hours, so you're now a European pilot. You fix your beret, move your cigarette to the furthest edge of your mouse, you pick up a baguette for the trip, and merde, it's time to go to weurk. |
