Oh I've tried it. Pretty much every flight deck prior to NWA was the captain's show. It got old dealing with each captains idiosyncrasies, hence my love for SOPA/SMAC.

I'm sure the Delta way is good too, everyone who is there seems to like it.

I don't think DAL is "old school" ... in other words, its the CAs way or else. So I don't think there's nothing to worry about for the DAL-N guys.

I think at DAL, they actually let the CA be a CA. Sometimes, they put their foot down on a particular issue.

Yeah, most guys here at DAL were hired because they are pragmatic about a great many issues. Most here are big picture guys. I really like the way we do it here.

I empathize with the North boys as I know they've had to absorb the brunt of the changes.

As for me......whatever.

DAL wants to change the ocean crossing procedures every other week...fine.

He turns on the beacon - I turn on the beacon....whatever.

All I know is come 2012 they better be ready to give some of these "synergies" back 'till it hurts. I don't want to put us under, but I've got a no vote ready to go until they convince me otherwise.

I will say one thing I don't like is moving the special pages, or as DAL south calls 'em "green pages" back to 10-7. I liked 'em much better up at 10-0. Those are the first pages I want to look at and it makes it easier to find the airport because you can visually see where it starts.

The 10-7 philosophy I love. The location... I'd much rather it be called 10-0 and utilizing the 10-7 philosophy. Sure made the airport sections a lot easier to find.

That would make the most sense until you leave them there and can't stop thinking about how your charts are out of order. Eventually you'll cave in and move them to the 10-7 spot because we know that all of us have mild to extreme cases of OCD and having charts in the wrong spot will just cause us to lose sleep.
