But whatever. Again, good effort over all. Did anyone see the NYC commercial Delta "NY Anthem" TV Ad - YouTube where the F.O. who lives in Manhattan takes a yellow cab to work while only bringing a bag barely big enough for his hat and McRib because he KNOWS he's not getting rerouted or anything? I mean is that not just

or what?

I liked the video (right up until the end). I feel this was in very poor taste towards a group that I feel is responsible for why Delta is currently the industry leader today. Happy to see our union already conveyed displeasure to ED if that is the case. I don't know about the rest of you but I would take old school flying over today. More and more responsibility is being placed on us for less money. The end of the video was simply disrespectful, not funny.

There, fixed it.
Had a Captain once who rolled a 20 into the ACARS paper and would later nonchalantly hit the button for paper advance to the astonishment of the A Line. When the A Line asked he always had some story ready about extra per diem, or bonus money. During the Captain's break the A Line would usually ask, "is that true." In good FO form, my answer is always "yes."

At least they got the proper use of the manual on a Douglas aircraft correct. (Works on old Volkswagens and most British electrical systems with equal effect)
I know this in jest, but the reality is that if those foreign airlines make any headway on foreign ownership laws or cabotage, it means less US pilots jobs, and that makes me concerned. It should make you concerned too.

Slowplay, ACL, or anyone else ...
What is your take on Qatar, or Emirates, and their plans for growth. Part of the reason I didn't jump is the impression they are inflating a bubble with unsustainable growth. However, I've not dug into their margins, or load factors as they expand.
Informally, a surprising number of international travelers I've spoken with recently have mentioned either having traveled on, or were anticipating their first trips on Qatar. Does the competitive advantage these carriers enjoy as a result of their quasi government sponsorship make them unstoppable, or is their trajectory more likely to the Indian carriers that were growing so quickly just a couple of years ago?

OK, for all of those ticked off about the 'FLY' button, apparrently they also updated the Richard Anderson "intro" to the Safety Video. There are three versions of it, one filmed in the OCC, one with MTC, and one at the Flight Sims which is this one:

I think it shows that we do a little more than just hit the FLY button, though I think we could have found a couple of pilots who were a little less 'soft' in the middle.
In any case, I just can't get that up in arms about this. ESPN just did a similar commercial with the FLY and LAND button and I thought that was funny too. Stange that many of the same people who hate the 'Hat' and want to wear jeans to work suddenly care so much about how passengers view us (...and yes, I do wear the hat, shine my shoes, iron my shirt every night, etc....)
