I just returned off long term mil leave and I'm able to participate in this AE but I have a few questions: Are the AE preferences processed before the VDs? Would it be smart to put the same category/base as my AE preference and my VD? Just a little confused with how the surpluses and vacancies are related.
Thanks. |

Um... I didn't think about this but in that video, the pilot had a mustache.

Well, I guess I need to fess up as I'm the one who called the MEC Duty officer and told him about the "FLY" button. He told me he would call me back after he watched it, then did and said he showed it to the MEC Vice Chair who was not amused and put in a call to Ed.

Thanks. You are already afforded a one-time "go anywhere your seniority can hold" when you returned from mil leave-- presumably you chose what you wanted? Now DON'T mess it up by volunteering to leave! For your MANDATORY displacement choices, put as #1 your presumably current position you cherry picked on MLOA return, then put in order the next best positions you want. Only way you will move from your MLOA return spot is if you get displaced out the bottom, or you volunteer to move. A "VD" is this: is ANYONE at your base/equip junior to you is forced to move, that is gets displaced, YOU will volunteer to take their crap deal instead of them. This is only used as a tactical "I really want to move out of my current spot and into THAT category, but nothing ever opens up in THAT category, so I'm putting in a VD to give me the ability to "displace" into it". So remember, if you are senior to 10,300 or so, be sure to fill out both your MD and VD with something you can hold with good seniority, say NYC MD88. If junior to that, recommend you stay put ;) |

I liked Richard Anderson's new intro. I thought the safety video was awkward. It was not funny at all, but it is obvious it is trying to be.
Where can I view this video? |

You missed the FLY button scene, but it was right at the very end, after the Capt. says his, "Sit Back, Relax and Enjoy..." |

Okay, okay, I get it. There is no"FLY"button. Uhh... is the "UP" switch still installed? It used to next to the "BUMPS" button.

I commute on this route and have often wondered if this was going to happen in the light of AK's continued expansion. I'm actually very surprised DAL is allowing this to happen...seeing we are best buddies! kiss kiss...
