I was hired at Fedex in 1986. We all make mistakes. I don't cry about it constantly. His post just points out that your career is tied to the health of the company you work for. Another point this forum forgets. He also will eventually understand that a aviation career moves at different rates at different companies. I also find it a bit hard to believe that pilots hired the same time as he was are 757 CA's at CAL while all he can hold is the M88B. I think perhaps there is some personal choice in what he is flying.

I have had 2 SWA pilots ask me for a recommendation. They do not see much hope for advancement at SWA with the fleet plan flat for the next 5 years and no real retirements. Having said that I am not sure they will leave but they want to make sure they have the option if our hiring window opens up. Its a smart thing to do if your unhappy where you are!!!!!!

Would it be fair to say that those are your opinions of whether they are "wrongly" applied or "irrelevant."

I was hired by AMR, and NWA before I interviewed with DAL. I would still have my retirement at AMR, be 2000 numbers junior to where I am now if I had gone to NWA. It is what it is, a crapshoot. Oh, they are hiring 400 FA's. Hiring isn't even being talked about for 2013 at all, because of MIL leave returnees and furlough bypasses expressing interest in coming back.

Have you noticed who went to 744B on the last bid here?

Yep, even I was holding a line on the 767 second year on property. Not consistently, but the month we merged I was a line holder and somewhat junior to 80 Kts Clamp.

Then prove it. Name the stats and then show how they are wrong. This is the problem with this type of forum, you get to state that my facts are wrong or wrongly applied and yet you provide no proof. Yet when I prove that you and your friends assertions are wrong, I am arrogant and condescending. It is as if opinions and facts are interchangeable here, but in the real world they are not.

I'm sure there are plenty of CAL/UAL guys who are envious. CAL work rules are so terrible there are 737 CAs are bidding back to WB FO for better QOL. Heck, there are SWA guys looking to come to DAL.
