Tom passed on the flow as well, didn't he? I think he was planning to spend his career at Mesaba, before the airline was systematically destroyed by the kindergarteners in the PNCL executive office.
If I were a L-Colgan or L-Mesaba guy, I would be really bitter about this entire process since the purchase. PNCL took 2 perfectly normal airlines and ruined them by combining them with their own Mickey Mouse operation. I find it upsetting, and I don't even have a dog in the fight. Sad to see so many guys get screwed by this unnecessary merger of 3 airlines. Here are some things I know for sure. 1) Pilots at all three of those airlines are bitter, we all see why and agree. 2) Pinnacle was strong armed into 100 percent of this. The management is doing what Delta is telling them to do. 3) Pinnacle and Delta put together a TA that they believe will be just enough to get 50 percent. 4) As far as the new flow(interview), rather the Pinnacle pilots think its great or not, they were very lucky to get what they currently have in the TA. Delta would not give away any more of a guarantee than these provisions. Many will get their chance to come to mainline in an interview with DAL being able to say no to the sour grapes. Knowing what happened during the DALPA/Mesaba ALPA negotiations last time, the Mesaba pilots almost got nothing and had their flow destroyed with no one coming over. I'm sure with the starting back over at the top was looked at as a blessing as far as the negotiators were concerned not to mention all the pilots on the list being included not just the Mesaba pilots. IMO it will pass. They are definitely between a rock and a hard place. |

Hi, no offense intended here but... are you a pilot? I'm always confused by your posts, and have gotten the impression you may not be a pilot... which is OK but since this forum is at "Airline Pilot Central", then I'd say most folks assume everyone on here is a pilot.
If you're NOT a pilot, I think it would be more helpful for folks reading your posts and interacting with you to understand them, AND more honest, for you to put something in your user-info on the left that would let folks know that. Position "Fool Proof" would be the spot to put Flt Attendant, or something like that. You may not realize it, but allowing folks to assume you are, since you're on an Airline Pilot Forum, changes the context of everything you write, and slants it in many reader's minds as an attempt to deceive. I don't get that impression from reading your posts, but am still left with a final impression of someone trying to deceive me. For example, the judgement of a captain's skills based on how smooth a landing was from the back is completely different than such a statement from someone flying with him as a co-pilot--one of them has a valid opinion on "Piloting skills" and another only on "captaining skills". Anyways, I enjoy your input here but so much of what you post sounds slightly off and, well, "not informed" that I've begun to wonder if you're a flt attendant, and your response would be appreciated to help me understand and enjoy your posts more. Thanks! Merry Xmas etc.

Ummm, remember the advertising slogan, "Hi, I'm Sue, FLY ME!" Or Hooters Air? Believe it or not, some guys, not me of course, but 'some guys', I've heard, actually do like to look at hot chicks, and will actually PAY MONEY to do it...or so I have been told. On an airplane, or in a club, I don't think they really care which, as long as the chicks are hot! :D |
