Looks like I didn't get any of my choices and was awarded both my vacation weeks during the primary awards, what a crock!!!! I'm beyond ****ed and wish there was something I could do, but knowing ALPA and Delta they will both send me to the other and or say it was my own fault for mot bidding enough choices.
In my eyes it shouldn't matter if I bid for one week or multiple as my only choice was for one of my weeks in the summer months, which I got although it wasn't one of my choices. Man I'm ****ed, I got burned last year b/c I only had 13 days and couldn't split them...learned it the hard way...now this BS rant over |

When a guy leaves a category with his vacation, that week will likely open up in the category right? I suppose if a previously senior pilot moves in with a prime week he will eat that slot but not always.
I agree there is NO transparency in the vacation moveup process, that really needs to change...... |

I did not think it would award both vacations in the primary unless you bid for it.

Don't pilots ever buy tickets? Also, I thought at delta, most kids were home schooled so it doesnt matter when vacations are taken.
If I wanted to take all four of us tomorrow and return on Sunday, $2300. The cost to drive? $145 in gas. So I can't afford to fly. I don't make enough money. |

You'd think!! I didn't bid enough weeks so I got stuck with whatever they wanted me to have. What really torques me is the award of both my weeks when in all of my bids (even though I didn't get any of them) I only selected to have one week award. My plan was to no the second week during secondary bid.
Sux As to trading, I traded my vacation like 5 times last year. On the initial primary bid I started off bidding for Christmas, didn't get, then asked for Thanksgiving... GOT IT. I COULDN'T BELIEVE I GOT THANKSGIVING OFF!!!!!!!!!! Then I found out, Thanksgiving was on the 22nd, not the last week of the month. No wonder I got it, who wants a crappy after thanksgiving week for vacation??! |

I agree. The open vacations should be published monthly along with the award results. We also need a vacation swapboard on icrew. Seems like now the key is to get the vacation in the month you want then slide it in PBS. I have not used it yet but it looks like a good feature.
You can always check for open vacations weeks available on Icrew before each bid. For example to check weeks available for secondary bids: ICREW> Bids>Vacation>Initial vacation bid>Secondary vacation> Display weeks available This will show you exactly how many weeks are left for bidding during each of the 52 weekly vacation periods. Unfortunately most categories will now have zero weeks left for the prime summer months. Scoop |

Call ALPA. I don't think they can do that, but I don't know for sure.

Where are the primary awards for vac? I can't seem to navigate to it in ICrew.
