I heard that the 717s coming from Southwest can be flown purely by happy smiles, bad jokes, and free bags. So.... pilots won't be needed and there will definitely be furloughs. Delta sure did pull a fast one on you guys. But they didn't win everything, they'll have to start letting bags fly free again. Small price to pay to be able to furlough a couple thousand pilots.

I know you want to be at Southwest, but man do you have a dim outlook on all things Delta. It's going to work out - keep your chin up.

I also thought the update was negative, but I think you are taking it a little too far. When I say negative, I guess I mean compared to my expectations which appear to have been a little too high.

Overall I think the bid will be net positive, with a bunch of new NB Captain positions, but falling short of what I was hoping for, which is a bid with few or (gasp) zero displacements - just positive movement.

It appears to me that a lot of the advancements will be cancelled out by displacements - this is very disapointing. Then again, maybe we will be pleasantly surprised. :D
