Arguably, a non-rev ride probably costs DAL some money, but I believe a Buddy Pass is still a positive revenue stream for DAL. Any Tom, Dick, or Harry can get a BP from a DAL guy, but with less than 10 years of semi-honorable service , I am not afforded that benefit.

And, no, I don't expect any negotiating capitol to be expended on this, but perhaps a world-famous LOA might afford this small bennie to future retirees with less than 10 years DAL service....

Rant out,
BG

Hey BG,

That sucks! I hope you enjoy your retirement! I appreciate you taking the time to answer my questions last spring. If you need any buddy passes let me know. They're yours.

For clean safe browsing I recommend Chrome. Fastest browser anyway.

Then do this:
How to enable Chrome's Do Not Track option | How To - CNET

And also get this:
AdBLock

and this:
Block yourself from Analytics

Now you shouldn't get tracked and you shouldn't see any ads on this site. On the iPad or Mac, no idea. I know you can get Chrome for iPad too, but it does not have the Do Not Track option.

Just a thought for you to mull over if you're looking for more sour grapes ;)

Hey Road,

If I came across as sour grapes , it was unintended. Wasn't qualified for the early out, but you probably knew that. Also, you must have missed my appeal for "future retirees".....Thanks for not shooting before you aimed..;)

I have a question for you Internet gurus. It concerns privacy. The world wide web seems to be getting smarter by the day. Uncomfortably so.

I was just watching a bunch of guitar solo videos on YouTube. (Joe Satriani is a God)

A few seconds later when I log on to this site I get ads for guitar lessons. That can't be a coincidence.
How does APC know what I've been watching on YouTube? Does every website that I visit see from my history every other website that I've ever visited?
I thought that cookies were only used by the website that puts them on your computer. I know that my Internet service provider obviously knows every site I visit and I don't really care, but can every website see where I've been?
When I log onto DeltaNet can they see where I've been? I may not want my employer to know that I recently searched for left handed lesbians mud wrestling on spring break.

Is there a way to stop all these people from tracking me?

No, there really isn't. You can make the symptoms go away, but you'll still be tracked.

Under the guise of "personalization" your web experience can be significantly different from mine, even if we visit the same pages....your search results will differ from mine even if we search for the same exact term.

There is much more to it than cookies and IP addesses...
Read "The Filter Bubble" for more insight on who and what is being tracked.

I prefer seeing the odd adds, because it reminds me of what is happening under the hood...

Cheers
George

Congrats on retiring from your retirement job!

Make sure when you do end up back in the airport that you dress appropriately for how you're rolling in retirement.

BG,
From Cobras to Fedex to here and everything in between, congratulations on your retirement. You've been good to us here and I just want to think you for that and hope that through the power of the internet you are still around.

I tried to find you an appropriate pic, found this, your old toy on the top left, next toy on the top right, new toy in the water. Seems right...
