I have a question for you Internet gurus. It concerns privacy. The world wide web seems to be getting smarter by the day. Uncomfortably so.

I was just watching a bunch of guitar solo videos on YouTube. (Joe Satriani is a God)

A few seconds later when I log on to this site I get ads for guitar lessons. That can't be a coincidence.
How does APC know what I've been watching on YouTube? Does every website that I visit see from my history every other website that I've ever visited?
I thought that cookies were only used by the website that puts them on your computer. I know that my Internet service provider obviously knows every site I visit and I don't really care, but can every website see where I've been?
When I log onto DeltaNet can they see where I've been? I may not want my employer to know that I recently searched for left handed lesbians mud wrestling on spring break.

Is there a way to stop all these people from tracking me?

I think I read some where, or maybe it was in a dream, that websites are able to determine where you came from and where you went (that is, which web pages you're coming from and going to). They're probably able to do more than that, but I figure, at a minimum they know that.

I got this program (https://www.hsselite.com/) on dealnews.com when it was on sale for $15 (half price). It definitely works. iCrew doesn't like not knowing where you're logging in from so when I check my schedule I have to remember to turn this program off or too often I'll get kicked off iCrew.

Random Rant

Slow, Sailing, Alfa, etc:

I timed-out on a long career last month and have encountered a thorn. I only had 5 years at DAL, so I'm not eligible for any travel benefits. I undestand no non-rev bennies, but I don't understand why I can't even get a buddy pass for myself.

Arguably, a non-rev ride probably costs DAL some money, but I believe a Buddy Pass is still a positive revenue stream for DAL. Any Tom, Dick, or Harry can get a BP from a DAL guy, but with less than 10 years of semi-honorable service , I am not afforded that benefit.

And, no, I don't expect any negotiating capitol to be expended on this, but perhaps a world-famous LOA might afford this small bennie to future retirees with less than 10 years DAL service....

Rant out,
BG

I'm not sure why you're complaining. This is what I got at the bottom of the page today....

I think that is just fine..... Delta gets a piece of the $40K spent over the year.

I really like all of Satriani's solo stuff, but when these clowns come to a venue near me, my wife is dragging me there: Chickenfoot

Took most of the day to get in to ESS but once there, no problems.

I looked into the early out program, the "55" one. My understanding was you would have gotten non-rev benefits with that one. U Should have jumped on it if so--I'd think having non-rev privileges for life would outweigh 1 more year of flying until forced out. Just a thought for you to mull over if you're looking for more sour grapes ;)
