or we just charge more for seats on the 88 that leaves at the optimum time, therein you might get a higher margin on the entire cabin. and you don't flood the market with seats.
save the 757 for that route that really needs a 763 but because its a 752 you actually force people to B their first class tickets instead of upgrade. |

From what I understand the changes will result in people who spend money with Delta buying expensive tickets will be rewarded more than those who spend money buying cheap tickets.
People like my buddy who don't spend much money with Delta but for example, put all their Diesel fuel purchases (say to the tune of $400K a year) on their AMEX card won't get the high elite status levels anymore just because they use their card a whole bunch. I think Delta (understandably) wants to honor those people who are contributing the most to Delta's bottom line. I have NO problem with the guys who fly us a lot and I appreciate their loyalty and they should get every upgrade we can give them. However, on my domestic deadheads I'm normally #30+ on the upgrade list. Which is fine if I'm behind all those really high value loyal customers. What I normally see is obvious leisure flyers getting on with the frequent flyers (in front of my lowly zone 1:D). Like I said, not a big deal and I'm not making a big deal about it, but I've always wondered how many of those people are NOT frequent flyers but frequent dinners on the AMEX card. Does anyone know how much money we get back from AMEX? Anyway, I for one am glad they are tightening up the program. Ferd |

I heard Delta gets $450 for every new credit card holder.
Not sure what the back end is. Another brilliant marketing scheme? |

Well, really, that 752 is a lot of airplane for a route like ATL-LAX: take that 752/763 route, forget about replacing with a 752 and park that expensive 763 and put a 737-900 on it. Big cabin? Pfffff. Widebody? Pfffff... Cargo? Pffff... leave those people at the gate, just take the premium pax who pay the top dollar. Until the biz traveler at the last minute can't buy a ticket because we downsized and goes over to AmericUSAir and connects through DFW. Then the route starts losing money and we'll use a smaller jet on it.
Because if it's going to LAX, they'll give it to Alaska! |

From Your Pay Check on 31DEC12 take
FLT PAY + FLT ADV X .0667 =2013 profit sharing check from 2012 wages A couple other exceptions may apply outside of FLT PAY And FLT ADV as provided in Section 3 .I in the PWA Now take your 2013 profit sharing check and multiply X .667 to see 2014 profit sharing check if we had the same profit. I don't do public math...so what are you saying because I voted no... |

I often wondered what would happen once most of our customers have the AmEx cards the F/A's are selling daily, and then use those cards to pay all their monthy bills, gaining thousands of Sky Miles used for free travel, yet spending no money on Delta.
