I heard quite a bit of it before the AE was out. :)

Awww you're right. There had been a number of good news rumors floating around. Now that SD and Jim Graham have said them they must be serious. I bet we'll obtain 88 717s and need to hire some pilots in the fall of 2012.

Ugh. Don't get me started. NWA should've put IFE in them.

Believe that was a decision by RA, he said it was not justified at the time due to the competition.

I hate to be a pessimist here but I do find this "leaked" information a bit fishy considering we are trying to survive another AE. The carnage on this AE has a bunch of people really flailing...again...

Yah think? Always easier to think about would could happen vs what is happening.

I am a 2010 new hire but the fNWA guys I fly with have told me it was a cost, weight, fuel savings at the time.

The first Airbus's had video monitors, they were removed due to mx issues.

Yep- not cost, weight, fuel savings.

That system was installed after delivery by an outside vendor...it never worked right and every time you came to a MX station, they had vendors there to try and fix it. Crappy system. What I don't understand is why they don't install one now?

It was a mx issue, and RA was asked the question why not put them on, the response was..its hard to justify when the competition does not do it.
