What time of day do they normally assign short calls for tomorrow?
But, for me, it seems when I'm in base, finishing up one short call, waiting around to see if they are going to give me another one the next day, they post them closer to 1300. :D |
Looking at my paycheck for the end of the month:
Taxable amount on life insurance: Increase of 14% Dental insurance premium: Increase of 9% Hey, I only fell back one-half a percentage point in regard to the dental increase with the pay raise of 8.5%! Not looking forward to how much I'll be falling behind the cost of living a year from now. |

Tip of the day. If you are tired of the ads Internet Brands is serving, search term, Inessa Tushkanova.
The link to auto racing provides plausible deniability. |

Reserves can't fly their tails off all year long. The staffing formula doesn't allow it.
I would agree it is written that way in principal but that is not how it will end up working out. I talked to my rep BC who talked to HK about this and I talked to him as well. My scenario and situation was this. What if I fly a lot in the spring and summer? That triggers an lower utilization later on right? But how? If you have a finite number of people and bases you cannot spread the flying out. My point was with the look back being the past 12 months there is no way to catch up. You are playing this game again where the last year is always overstaffed and there is no way to fix it but hire and they wont/ It is the same situation with our JV they will be out of compliance guess when? Past the date we knew all along would occur/ Now they have to change it but how? These formulas as somewhat worthless without monetary penaties with them and we need to change this because we keep getting shafted by the company and they shrug their shoulders and say oops. |

To help distract you from noticing that Delta1067 is spilling reserve trade secrets, here, a new movie trailer.
Should be up for the Oscars in 2014. For sure. TF? Was that? Is that someone playing around with iMovie's new trailer features or did that honestly just get green lighted? |

More evidence Lindsay Lohan film a train wreck actually, the comment section of that article is kind of fun to read. Let's see ... a very stupid movie based on a very stupid premise about very stupid "reality TV" starring a very stupid young girl and a very stupid porn star ends up being very stupid. |
It's pretty amazing to see how many people have already bid for the 717A and B slots even without an AE out there.

With all the talk of guys with a 0 RAW score and 0 short calls I just looked at my category (SLC 320A). Today there are 11 pilots on reserve. Three are in raw group one, five in group two, two in group three and one in group four. The lowest number of short calls by any of this group was three, and of those with only three short calls none was less than RAW group two. And the pilot in RAW group four had seven pilots junior to him/her! Nobody's getting a free ride... Sorry but I see, as Scoop says, "a pretty good system". The only way to have a perfectly linear distribution of RAW scores and short call assignments according to seniority is to have the ability to have perfect foresight. Neither DAL or DALPA (or anyone else) can predict mechanical problems, weather issues sick outs, etc. The best they can do is create a framework for trip and short call assignments that respects seniority. I believe they've done that. |
