2.8 a month seems pretty low to me, especially for the NYC 7ER A category.
If you are senior on reserve, I think thats another story. |

Yes, I think that will change. I doubt if the company negotiated for something they didn't intend to use.
Just one more way for the company to absorb impending retirements without replacing them 1 for 1. But we did get 4-8-3-3, so it's ok. |

I just did 3 in 5 days. 2.8 average? Yeah... No.
If you are senior on reserve, I think thats another story. Oh, and my category is "fat" as per crew planning. 2.8 my shiny white rear end. |

Someone had a good synopsis of what was going on from In Command. The company isn't pleased with ALK's shenanigans, and we are starting to add our own feed to SEA. Also want to add more long range flying out of SEA to Asia, overflying NRT. HA doesn't fit into our plans, either, as they have a lot of debt and don't own many of their airplanes.

I agree 100%. Let me hear the Pros, the Cons, the Kool-aid Point of view, the DPA point of view, the DALPA point of view etc. I will then form my own opinions.
I will also add that there shouldn't be a perfect correlation between a poster and a viewpoint. It cannot be that intelligent people look at an organization, or a person, and invariably conclude that they are never wrong, or always wrong. I have the greatest respect for those who judge based on current facts, not stale ideology. |

I agree. I think Purple is a Yankee. Yankees evoke differently, they are much more direct. With a Yankee, you rarely have to wonder where you stand.
Aya bubba Timbo? Unlike Clamp and DW. I wonder if they exchanged phone numbers.;) |
Looks like newK took the ol' 9 out for a spin this morning.
New speed record for you? |

You know my eyes typically focus straight on what is posted and then after reading will gravitate to who wrote what. Now this one was relatively tame, but it had that "defend the company at all costs" tinge to it since that 2.8 number seemed low compared to what my experience has been since last spring, so when my eyes drifted over to who its author was I had a sneaking suspicion I was on the money with one of my two picks. :D

I sit a minimum of 4 each month.. typically 5 and sometimes 6.
Oh, and my category is "fat" as per crew planning. 2.8 my shiny white rear end. In all fairness, I must admit I am sort of fat too. And for more disclosure, when I bid reserve in the high season, I'm almost always either flying, or on SC. 2.8/month is probably about right for a company-wide average, but there must be very large variations between categories, and individual pilots as well. I susprct many guys that are junior in NB categories in the summer think the average and max are the same number. |
