Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
What a load of BUNK!
In the last 4 months the MEC elected a new MEC Chairman. Several major committees and appointed positions turned over. The negotiating committee went from 4 to 3. The EVP changed. There are 9 new voting reps out of 19 votes taking office March 1.
You whine because the results don't fit YOUR set of politics.

SJ, why are we going to get them back if having them outsourced is good for us?
They were good for me for 6 years until I got my 1000 TPIC. They're doing well enough now. I couldn't walk through the door here with expectations of being a widebody CA in 5 years. What expectations I did have - i.e. working for a financially viable and sustainable carrier - have been consistently upheld. What's so wrong with that?
May I remind you it was your generation that let them go. It'll be my generation that gets them back.

Not if we keep giving them more new efficient planes!

Give it 5 years. You'll see.
Then again, is the goal of dismantling a 600 airplane fleet in 3 years a reasonable goal? Would our PWA have to subsidize the breach of contract penalties? Rome may have been outsourced in the stroke of a pen, but building it takes a while.

Like I said earlier - loud mouthing the defeatist attitude is only gonna get you defeated. Not sure what made you worth $319 in 2000 besides well timed pattern bargaining and cheap gas, but you aren't gonna just be able to ask nicely for a 25% raise. Best to just set it as a goal and go for it.
Not to mention unreasonable pay rate jumps were listed as contributory factors in a number of airline BKs. Bad management aside, pensions plus $319 an hour is unsustainable.

I think you need to go back to your independant analysis.
Someone earlier said that our union politics would change when we hire more regional guys...Not if their frame of reference is "wow, this is so much better than my regional."
Unfortunately, when this contract got voted in, the Delta pilots said "yup, this is the new normal."
I work for Delta Air Lines and collect a profit sharing check based on their ability to generate a RASM premium fleet wide. If we had those airplanes, the RASM premium would be lower, and so would my profit sharing check. I'm talking about me here. Working under the failed policies of the last 2 decades may cause your mileage to vary.
I can't do much to Lee with 50,000 mute pilots behind me, now can I? But he still works for me. And he'll do as he pleases until he causes 50,000 people to revolt. Which won't ever happen. So it's a mute point for debate, really.

How is it that uncle Hulas is able to produce net income with "those arrjays" but Uncle Dick isn't?
Won't happen, i know, so it's a moot point, really.
You have powerplant restrictions in your section 1 forbidding dci from operating geared turbofans? Thats news to me.

What % of their domestic flying can be codeshare flying done by JetBlue and Alaska? And look at their NB pay. Much lower then ours. Looks like they sold their NB guys out.

Well hey, feel free to buy one of us a beer next time since you know our outsourcedness contributes so much to that RASM premium you enjoy. By the way I thought your profit sharing was based on net income?

Are you suggesting that Delta could operate the aircraft more profitably than Pinnacle or GoJets?
