I'm just hoping that the hinted at more widebodies offsets the slide to smaller aircraft. Otherwise a good chunk of my 4 8 3 3 will be chewed up via getting displaced from a small narrowbody to a smaller narrowbody!

Feeling Funded yet?

We've all encountered this guy in the bathroom in ATL at one time or another.

Ha, interesting, a lot longer than I would have imagined. I wonder what the record was when it was age 60?

The record, when it was age 60, was 3 years, held by the same guy that now has the 8yr. record, at age 65.

I'm just glad he was a 'good guy' to fly with, and not a Tool.

I feel more like I am the fund, haha.

If I'm gonna be funds, I've got to be something pretty freaking awesome:

That extension couldn't have been granted to a nicer guy.

And from what I hear, the NW #1 (who has been on top there a long time as well) is similarly a class act.

Sue me for being positive. It's a better way to live - imo.

Are there legit gripes? Absolutely. Is DALPA perfect? Not even close. I am however, still very happy to be here. Want to cry about an unfair world? Feel free. I'm not going to join in or commiserate. I will hand you a tissue though.

Flt Ops is still fighting to begin hiring this year. When hiring starts the spigot will stay open for a decade. Very possible 321's w/330's on the way. Economy actually showing signs of life. Company estimating only 25% to 30% stay to 65. Signs of DAL life on West Coast. If only a 1/3d of what RA is planning happens, we are in for a rocket ship ride over the next 15yrs.

So no furlough, and in the left seat of the Airbus? Hell yeah! I'd be stoked too! But then there's the reality that I'll be lucky to be where you are about year 17 here. But sailing tells me it's all good and the guys I'm paying a nice portion of my paycheck have my best interests at heart, and nothing else, so I got that going for me. But yes, I could have spent my time and efforts toward another career, but I chose this one, so apparently I have to nod my head to the mantra that everything ALPA does is what is best; couldn't have been done any better, and ain't it grand that I'm so lucky?
