How does the inst that cannot hold the position remain current, and when they fly are they payed at the lower rate that they can hold or at the rate the aircraft is paid at?
If they can't hold it and need to fly for currency in that seat, then a trip buy is put in. The original captain is paid for the trip. So again, how are you harmed? |

FLY Leasing Sells Six Aircraft - Yahoo! Finance
DUBLIN, March 19, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- FLY Leasing Limited (FLY) ("FLY"), a global lessor of modern commercial jet aircraft, today announced that it has sold six Boeing 717-200 aircraft manufactured in 2001. The aircraft were acquired by FLY in 2011 as part of a 49-aircraft portfolio transaction. "The sale of these non-core aircraft will result in a gain over our current book value and generate gross cash proceeds of $17 million," said Colm Barrington, CEO of FLY. Some company somewhere got a good deal on six 717s. |
The Pike Place Brewery has excellent beer! I do miss Humpeys and the Alaskan Amber in ANC. Has anyone else heard of the Find Craft Brew APP for your smart phone? Flew with a Capt that showed me. It's awesome. No more asking the van driver where to get a good beer.

Do they have something in their contract that says no sharing the van? I remember American had that and would try to enforce it. As far as I am concerned, when standing out at the curb with your crew after calling the van and it arrives and they're not out by the curb, [edit] off about your van. if you're nice we may be willing to share the van with you.
And get a freaking haircut. |
Doh... went to download the Find Craft Beer app... the search came up with several... now I have like 5 "find beer" apps on my phone lol

I don't want them sent to the bloated, inept bureaucrats at national whose standard of living has not suffered one iota, even as ours has plummeted. Or sent... ...to an insular, abuse-ridden MEC which doubles as the company's talking-point generator. ...to the FPL-collecting leeches hiding behind an opaque and corrupt expensing system designed to protect those who abuse and plunder it. ...to the regional pilot groups who grew by leaps and bounds at our expense. ...to the FAs who gained access to KCM with the resources of "our" union. ...to the same FAs who, by "our" union's own admission, bleed our negotiating capital before we even sit down at the the table. Feel free to add to the list. And as for FPL - how would you suggest ALPA volunteers be rewarded for their service? You may think they're all idiots, but some of them are most likely nearly as smart as you. How would you like to be taken care of by your constituents while you rammed constructive engagement up the company's bum bum, and bankrupt the bargaining agent in a series of high profile work action lawsuits? Opinions are like...nevermind. And the broken promise generation is any pilot hired between 2001 and 2008. |
