Last fall a petition went out to many employees and was signed by thousands demanding to know why the pilots were getting so much more then the other employees and why they were not getting equal raises. I saw a copy that described the pilots as the chosen ones! This same phrase was on the flight attendant call in minutes. The head of inflight did a very poor job of responding sadly.

She could have pointed out the terminated retirement and larger pay cuts we took but did not.
We as pilots don't live in a vacuum regardless of what some would like to think. Everything in a business is related and tied together. Why do you think management goes to such great lengths to hide their own perks and raises. It all has a impact

Sailing, glad I read your whole post. BP started spiking in the first paragraph but you bring up a major point in the last one. We gave up and lost more in BK than most employee groups so when I hear FA's complaining about our contracts and compensation, I have little sympathy. This fact was or has been lost on most of them. I can distinctly remember more than several FA's tearfully pleading with the cockpit crew to accept the TA and not Chapter 7 the company by rejecting it. Remember that well placed propaganda item that was repeated often by FA managers??

In fact, I believe they have been made whole or are very near their pre bk pay rates currently.

Sierra Nevada of course, ESP their Ruthless Rye. Sweetwater is really good! If you really want a hoptastic voyage try the Torpedo Ale by Sierra Nevada! O'Conner brewing company in Norfolk Va has a dark IpA which is awesome. I had it on tap in the Hampton Va hotel.

I think we should be mortified that "our" union not only admits that our compensation is tied to the FAs' compensation, but actually seems to condone the notion.

Tying our compensation to the FAs' is as ludicrous as tying it to the CEO's pay. Apples and oranges.

Yet another example of ALPA's blind devotion to the company's agenda--at the expense of Delta pilots' best interests.

ALPA's first and only concern should be improving our pay/benefits/QOL. They shouldn't need to waste a dime of our money or a second of our time trying to justify why they are unwilling/unable to do so.

I should have said torpedo. Thats my go to. If u end up out west try a "Green Flash" good stuff! I will have to try this O'Conner. I was based in KORF back in my regional days. Couldnt afford good beer then. I'll check with local liquor store. They are pretty good about stocking good brews

I understand your point, but if Richard was getting a raise, and ALPA went to management and said the same thing - "you know Richard, we are all getting a 3% pay raise next year plus 1% DC, we think for the good of the company there should be a company policy that management should only get the same percentage. And if you're stock option pay say, 10%, you should get no pay raise because you got your compensation some other way".

hey would reject that in a second. Management would say, "we need to pay management high dollar so we attract and retain top personnel".

The "Me too" line only works because ALPA allows it to work. We do not do the same job as FAs and should not necessarily get paid the same way.

I am out west and I am from here. Some Cali favorites: Lost Coast Brewing company from Eureka Ca! Firestone Brewing Company from Paso Robles Ca and 21st Amendment Brewing Company. Rogue Brewing Company from Portland Or is pretty awesome too.

We don't get paid the same. We get paid a lot more and have a much better retirement.
